1.
Thomman do their "own" range now, don't know how good they are, but might be worth a look at.
We have a thomann 2500W power amp and it seems to be doing a grand job as the main part of our PA
We use Yamaha power amps for the monitors and the thomann sounds just as good, although the yamahas look better constructed sort of ford versus mercedes I guess

2.
maybe we can arrange a deal with UPS while the Royal Mail are on strike... :)
Already asked them and they want more than £1,000 for it!
AND they will not guarantee it will arrive
AND there may be extra charges.
AND all the other couriers are the same.
Luvverly people.

3. Gibson Grabber in fair condition now reduced to £375 plus delivery
No major dents or dings but it is worn as you might expect from its age.
I had to replace the tuners and volume/tone knobs (not the pots) as the previous owner had put non original style ones on.
The bridge cover is missing and one of the screws on the bridge is clearly not original.
The Gibson logo on the headstock is well worn (how that happened I cannot imagine).
It is fitted with an almost brand new set of Elixir strings and I will include the set of flats I got it with.
Will come in a gig bag.

I am in North Africa but can arrange delivery to anywhere in UK but it takes a bit of time so you do not need to be in a hurry.

Very good condition but not perfect
OK then no interest at all so far
So is it the price?
Offers?

Now for the bad news. it is currently with me here in Libya so anyone interestred will have to wait a little for me to get the bass to them.
I cannot courier from here so it would be dependent on me finding a colleague who will carry it back to the UK.
No charges for the Libya-UK part of the carriage!

No trades please

5.
Which shop is this? I need to know so that I never go there or order anything from them. Any ideas on how to narrow it down?

1. It's somewhere in the south.
South east london accent going on there but does not mean the shop is there.

Selling on behalf of my father. My apologies for any cheesy sales patter. And it's not the car at fault, it's the gear box in the boat. I didn't want to seem too cheesy talking about daddy's yacht :)

(it's only a small yacht given to him by his dead friend)
Anyway, guitar's up - feel free to buy it, that's why it's there.
Paul.
So your Dad owns a boat - no reason to be embarassed - hope he enjoys it. I know I would. Good luck with the sale and hope the gearbox does not prove too expensive to repair.

7. late 70's Stingray
recent Stingray with status graphite neck
Gibsin RD Artist
Gibson Grabber
Yamaha TRB4
Hohner B2B
Musicman Sub 5
Encore Ltd Edition P-bass
70's Shaftesbury Rick copy
Hudson Electro Acoustic
No name 4 string solidbody

Bunch of les pauls and a couple of accoustics

Hohner (recently bought from Burpster) is my current main bass due back problems, otherwise it would be the 'Ray with the Status neck.
So now looking at trying out the new Status Streamliner and if I like it then that could be the next purchase.

So if anyone wants a Grabber, RD Artist, or Yamaha TRB4 and is not in a hurry they are all up for grabs. Just have to get them from Libya to you!

8.
At our last gig i wore one of these http://www.play.com/Clothing/T-Shirts/4-/1...ic/Product.html it went down a bomb. every one's asking where can i get one. of course if you play at any kind of volume the things always lit up!
Yupp got one of those, and I am still trying to find a way of damping the input so it reacts sensibly at gig volumes the blu-tak I tried last time was too much and it never lit up at all. Dead good though and oodles of "where do you buy them?" comments.

If I am not wearing that one then I try to wear as "loud" a colour shirt as possible over the top of a t-shirt.

Last gig it was the t-qualizer with the Brian May We will rock you shirt which has to be the most garish of all shirts ever produced - fab!

9.
Funniest claim to fame ever! Son of Tony Hatch was good, but the daughters of the son of the man who did a film programme with Barry Norman in 1976 - performing as backing singers - Priceless!
Now let us be accurate here - this is after all very important :)

Lee Jenkinson was with Darren Hatch in a band.
Barry's daughters were the backing singers at a completely separate gig.

I did not want to mention being on tv with Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden) coz

a. It would look like name dropping
&
b. It was before he joined Maiden and I was in the audience in the pub
&
c. the programme was not about the band but about football hooligans

I have loads of other tenuous (to say the least) claims to fame but will save them for a rainy day.

Did I tell you about the time I almost met Colonel Ghadaffi?

10. At school, we had Squeeze play at our Christmas Dance and I was in the support band.
we in turn were supported by Tony Hatch's (wrote the themes for Crossroads, prisoner cell block h, neighbours) son Darren, and Lee Jenkinson son of Philip who used to present Film 76 with Barry Norman, whose daughters did a one off gig as backing vocalists with a band I was sound engineer for in Belgium. How about that for stretching the theme.

Lately we supported The Heavenly States (from California) on their micro tour of North Africa.

Oh and my daughter's Godfather is in the Drifters.

Pretty crap really apart from supporting Squeeze.
