I’m loving the scratchplate , can I ask where you got that. nice build btw 🙂
Tim from GIGINK online did my scratchplate.Im sure he's on here,
I always promised myself a custom, build to my own spec way back when I had no money.(Kids, bills, life, etc) got in the way.
UB40 was the first band I really listened to (Oh,and The Jam!) and this Album inspired me to play bass.I was 14 then and Im 54 now!....

Shouldn't it be 3 grooves for the thicker strings and 4 grooves for the thinner?
Unsure myself as I never had one before and I bought the bridge 2nd hand so not sure if saddles been swapped around.

Im a bit confused with the bridge saddles. The 3 and 4 groove arrangement.?

You don’t say if the replacement neck has existing screw holes and if it does, their alignment with the existing body holes is of paramount importance as a mismatch may also pull the neck slightly out of true alignment.
This is the same neck.
Fender claim this is a replacement neck for all std US,mex & squier bodies.Holes are predrilled.

I am in the process of attaching a new 2019 mex jazz bass neck to a new(old stock) 2013 usa standard p body. After offering the neck upto body, the neck pocket is not tight. There is a little play but not much. Will this make any difference once assembled?
Thanks...

I’m confused as there seem to be both a black bass and a sunburst one ?
Sorry the black one is my latest project and the reason for my delayed reply.
I will edit and repost it.

Hi all,
Ive bought a MIM P bass and Im trying to identify the build date.
Or if its a bitza.
On the neck is 2004-2005 already identified.
The body has a number M00770039 under the pick ups.
