3.
:) Whoops! It's been a long day ....

Yes, of course, you're right, so my explanation wasn't as sensible as I'd have liked ...

But I still think my answer is right:
10mm centre-to-centre spacing would leave just 1mm from the centre of the B string to the edge and 1mm from the C to the edge, which is clearly not feasible (especially since the B string will be about 3mm wide). With 9mm spacing, that leaves just 3.5mm on each side, which sounds about right, or maybe a bit tight, which was why I reckoned it would be a shade under 9mm.
yeah I see your point!
just measured the nut currently fitted to my bass and the 3.5mm each end of the nut seems about right!
Cheers thanks for you thoughts it gives me something else to think about :)

4.
Well, the individual centre-to-centre string distance will be slightly under 9mm, won't it? (That being 52 divided by 5 and rounded).
Excuse my ignorance but isn`t 52 divided by 5, 10 point something or other?

5.
What is the string spacing on the 201? I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks
I fitted a Hipshot A series bridge on TRB1004 don`t think it made that much difference to the tone but it looks a lot better than the standard black chrome finish bridge that Yamaha use!

6.
hi!!

I have a Yamaha TRB1005….and I want to buy one hardcase, because gigbag is very fragile to be able to walk with bass to the concerts...

I am from Lisbon, Portugal… and not meeting no store here where I can buy…. There in England, where I can buy one and order to come to Portugal?!

Help me!! :) Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee....

CheerS...

Hi Yamaha used to sell a branded hardcase made by Hiscox cases that could be ordered through your Yamaha dealer
If thats any help!

7.
It's pretty easy! The only massive difficulty with TRBs is the pickups which are slightly bigger then everyone elses...it's rather frustrating. But yeah if you look for a preamp that comes with 5 pots it's quite a good starting point (unless you don't mind drilling new holes or anything like that).

A few days ago I went ahead and bought myself the John East U-Retro 5 Knob Deluxe bass preamp, as the name implies this is a good fit and not to mention apparently sounding excellent.

If you want I will write again when I have installed the preamp.
I have been looking at the East pre or the Audere 4band any chance of letting me know how you get on with changing the pre!
cheers

9. Hi!
I`m looking for pickups to fit a 6 string bass, my current pups are EMG 40 size and the bass has a string spacing of 79/80mm has anybody got any ideas or sugestions, Emg tell me that their 40P pup has a coil length of 79mm so i might get some drop off!

Cheers Ta

10.
The Legend 6ers are lovely basses indeed. i was going to go for one in natural bubinga but problems with order time cropped up (sound control was in the process of going up the spout), so i chose my current main bass instead (Indie IB 606). as has already been mentioned, if you like the EMG sound, go for it. the older model with the 3 band EQ is more attractive if you can find one but buy any model in the confidence that they are a lovely instrument. Again, as has been said, make sure youve had a chance to feel the neck, specially in first position before you part with your cash.
Hope this helps!

Cheers guys thanks for the info, all i`ve got to do now is wait untill march because they`re not available at the moment!

11.
Cool. Thanks!
I look forward to trying this out. Now if waiting for a new bass wasn´t this hard...
no worries, silly question but how long have you been waitin for your marquee?
as i`ve been told they are hard to get at the moment, what colour are you getting?

12.
I have a Marquee on the way and cant find a wiring diagram or description of what the 5 way pickup switch does.
I can always find out when I get it by switching and tapping with a screwdriver on the pickups to see which ones are on and not. But something to guide me would be nice.
Hope this is some help!
possition 1neck pickup
2neck&middle
3middle pickup
4middle&bridge
5bridge
When you pull up on the bridge tone control positions1&5 bridge pickups only, and 2,3or4 gives you all 3 pickups together,
also the front tone control works with any position not containing the bridge pickup and the rear tone control works positins containing the bridge pickup 4,5& pulled! in position 4 both tones work but the middle control is slightly dominant.
