1. Sent you a PM. I can pay cash for this and meet you in East London as I work in Canary Wharf.
2. Age range so far between the 3 of us is 28 - 32. We're not ageist in any way but obviously in a perfect world someone just roughly approximate to that sort of age would be preferred. Rehearsal wise, we're thinking weekly till we have a set up and running and then maybe once every two or three weeks for new stuff. Rehearsal wise, near Horley in Surrey as a studio owner we all know owes several hundred quid in favours literally so time to call in the favours !!! I think timing wise we'd aim to be gigging for sure by the end of the year and we'd obviously wait for the right person who wants to commit (not looking for deps as we plan to be busy gig wise) as we've literally just had the conversation about getting this started over the weekend so we're very early doors at the moment and we have someone who is going to come and play bass for us for a few rehearsals till we find the right person.
3. Right, newly forming but well connected new project requires a bassist to finalise a 4 piece lineup for covers band. Musically we're thinking hard rock along the lines of pearl jam, queens of the stone age, them crooked vultures and would maybe like to avoid ending up with a setlist that looks like every other cover bands. We have a fantastic front man who is a true showman and is agency signed which this band will move straight across to so there will be plenty of very well paid functions gigs straight off the bat. We also have loads of pub contacts so getting gigs really ain't going to be a problem. We're looking to gig around 6 times a month so want to be pretty busy. We're all based round Crawley
4. Hi, Looking for a permanent bassist to join a 4 piece Mid Sussex based rock band (mainly covers for now but some original material being written at present). We've got over 20 (paid) gigs lined up this year, more dates about to come in and offers of functions work which we're turning down until we have a permanent lineup sorted. Covers stuff is along the lines of AC/DC, Jet, Zep, Darkness, Kravitz, Artic monkeys but this is just a flavour and by no means extensive. We're looking for someone who is very committed and readily available due to the amount of dates we have booked in and someone who genuinely wants to be out gigging as much as possible. You'll also need to have your own gear and transport. Playing wise, we need someone who has plenty of live experience, is of a suitable standard to be out there playing functions and is quick to pick things up. We're a friendly no attitude band who rehearse most weeks near Haywards Heath. Band age range is 25 - 40 (not that we're ageist) and male or female bassists can both feel free to apply as we're not sexist either! If you are genuinely interested, feel free to drop me a PM for more details. NO offers of deps please, we have plenty of collective bass playing friends who we can call on to fill in as required
5.
Hey looking4bass, Sorry that was me who sent you to the other Post. You seem to be hanging here a lot, Why dont you chop up the Guitar, And become a Born again Bassist. It will be much easier to find a Guitarist, Just take a random post code and address, Then knock on the bedroom door. Wholla...one on the end of the bed... Millions of them.. Good hunting Garry
It was actually quite interesting reading the other thread you posted (bloody disgraceful behaviour from the accused however). Don't think the bass is for me. I love my 6 strings too much and yes, I know there are bloody millions of us guitarists, however, you bass lot are a difficult lot to find an available one who is not just after paid depping work without any band level commitment - much like good drummers are hard to find. Just thought I would chuck a post or two in whilst looking for a bassist. I'm also still in touch with the bassist in the band I used to play with (Misrule) and he posts here fairly frequently so it's a good medium for us to keep in touch via PM's as well.
6.
Just asking to help us all out - wherebouts in West Sussex, and what genre of music?
Hi, Yes sorry. We're a bit spread member wise between Crawley and Brighton so we rehearse just outside Horsham. Genre Wise, mainly Rock but there is some more commercial stuff in there and so far we've been kicking around with some reasonably ecclectic stuff. To give a bit of a flavour: Led Zeppelin AC/DC Velvet Revolver Alanis Morrisette Lenny kravitz Stereophonics Reef Pretenders Doobie Brothers Janis Joplin
7. As it says on the tin really. My new project is looking for a bassist to complete a 4 piece lineup. We're based in West Sussex and are all experienced and all come from successful local bands so have plenty of contacts between us so getting gigs shouldn't be a problem. You'll need to be committed as we're looking to be out and gigging once or twice a week and plan to rehearse once a week (probably Wednesdays). You'll therefore need to be reliable, committed and have your own gear and transport. Initially, we'll be working on covers but do also have some original material in the offing as well and whilst some is already written, there is plenty of opportunity to get involved with writing and bring any original stuff you might have to the table. Although age is unimportant, to give a rough idea, the average age of the band is early thirties
8. We're a newly formed female fronted band looking for a kick arse bassist to finalise a 4 piece lineup. We're all experienced and from successful local bands and looking to form something new and to be out gigging regularly as soon as possible and have lots of venue contacts between us. Initially we'll mainly be doing covers with a view to phasing in more original material once a following has been established (original material already being written). You'll need to be comitted and have your own gear and transport. If this sounds like you, please drop me a PM.
