Hi Molan,

I actually don't know, but I do know that I have bought quite a few basses in the UK, and they have never been subject to any VAT or import duties. Overall, I find it very hard to imagine that you'd have to pay anything, and I am sure that VAT is definitely out of the question. Import duties also sound unlikely within the UK - that's the whole idea, right? Free movement of goods, services and workforce...

I have shipped a few basses to Germany in the past, and they were never subject to additional taxes neither.

I just bought Andy's Sadowsky P/J 4, and Andy is a great chap to deal with. He shipped as soon as the payment had cleared, and the packing was second to none! Thanks, mate!

VAT in DK is 25%, and tax is 3%, but accumulated it is 28,75% plus they add a standard £21 administration fee.

So, as I said, importing a new KBP5 into Denmark would cost $4831 (given the shipping cost is $400), which roughly equals £3360 (plus the £21 fee). But still, an absolute bargain - and one I am still monitoring quite closely... ;-)

Nope, it's the CP-I, the predecessor to the CP-IIIA that Chris uses currently (which is not identical to the Greengrove, BW).

It sound a little different, but just as good, IMO.

I recently required prices from Jimmy, an according to the list I got, a KBP5 Standard is $3,345, but he said that shipping to Denmark would be around $400 (which means no USPS, I guess), so in total and including custom duties (in Denmark) the final price would be a staggering $4,831. But that is including shipping and taxes... (Danish taxes and VAT, though, and I think that is more reasonable in the UK).

However, this bass is still an incredible bargain. Had I not had an LM5 on the top of my list - and bought one just last week - I would have taken this one!

Well, just about as good as it gets! :-) (IMHO)

On the one hand, I don't think that any bass is worth +$10,000, but then again, if it's the one perfect bass that will kill all future GAS and be 100% ideal for anything you're ever gonna play - why not? I just find it hard to beleive that such a bass exists...

How about semi-acoustic. Rob Allen's basses are amazing...!

I don't have a scale right here, but it is much lighter than the other Celinder I had up for sale recently. I'd say around 9 lbs. 10 lbs. tops.

I think it would be fine. It sounds like a rather heavy rig, though... :-)

I just want a 5th string, that's all... I have yet to play a Fender with a decent B-string... I have a Celinder J-Update 5 for that, a Sadowsky Tokyo arriving soon, and some serious GAS for an Alleva Coppolo LM5. That being said, I have never had a bass that sounds as good as my trusty 72 Jazz!
