1. "The EBS MultiDrive is a universal class A overdrive pedal, capable of producing sustain, overdrive and many other useful hot tube amp- distorted sounds.

A mode switch selects classic, vintage or modern overdrive type."

I have only used this a couple of times and this is in an as new condition. Brand new these sell for £140, im looking for £75 o.n.o

    *SOLD*

  2. Im buying a new amp, so I need to sell stuff to make space.

The Ampeg B2R I have for sale was bought new in 2004. I have used it these last few years for a load of shows and 3 recording sessions and it has never let me down. Very easy to use plug and play amp, with a 9 band eq which gives you plenty of options to shape your sound. The amp still looks very clean and has no marks apart from the usual Gator case marks left on the mounting points and from the case lid.

I am looking for £200 for this, but will accept reasonable offers. I live in Peterborough and am willing to drop it off as long as its not miles and miles out.

*Pics added. Apologies for the quality of them.

  3.
We're called the Quarry. We're mates with Shaun from the Ruined so he hooked us up with that show.

Not tried booking anything for next year yet because we've got to find a new guitarist first. Which band are you in?
Ah right! Yeah I was at that show. I know the Coach Calhoun guys, so was watching them. You guys were good!

Im in a band called Middenhelm. Havent gigged for a couple of months as were training up a drummer and new keyboardist, so were hoping to get out there towards the end of January. Im proper itching to gig now though.

  4.
I'm in a thrash band too.

This thread has been *extremely* helpful.

Only trouble is i've not seen many secondhand fafner's about and I don't think I can justify a new one!
I saw you played at the Met lounge a couple of weeks back. Whats the name of your band man? You finding shows easy enough to get? Weve hit a bit of a wall trying to get shows January onwards.

  5. Thanks for the replies people. I may go for the 650 then as it makes sense to have that extra headroom. I would like to get the Fafner, but I dont think I could justify spending out on one (or could I?? haha)

Can anyone recommend any decent shops that sell EBS amps? I know the Basscentre does, but I couldnt see the 650 on their list.

  6. After months of looking for a new amp I think I have my heart set on some EBS gear. The only thing im really not sure of is if the HD350 will be loud enough. I have heard some reviews saying that the TD650 is not much louder than the 350 and as it is a lot more expensive it would seem a bit pointless. Im just looking for some user reviews on the EBS amp range and want to know if these amps would be loud enough. Im always getting drowned out in band practise so i'm needing a louder amp. Live isnt as much of an issue as everythings through the PA anyway.

    So yes, thoughts please!

  7. The Sandberg website has a load of UK distributors on there, with links to their websites etc. Probably worth going through the list and picking out stores close to you.

Sandberg basses tend to play really nicely, so I doubt you'd be disappointed!

  8. Thanks Crazykiwi and Yorick. Im going to give it a bit more time for a reply, but if I get no joy i'll definately take help!

Burpster - There are 2 smaller cracks from the 1st and 2nd peg, which dont show up on camera unfortunately.

Is kinda annoying as it is a new bass and it was fine when shipped, so im guessing the pegs are screwed on too tight maybe or the wood isnt seasoned properly? My other Sandberg has done me well for many years so i'm pretty confident on the quality of them, I mustve just got a duff one haha

  9. Hey up,

I bought a Sandberg California at the beginning of September and have started to notice some small cracks in the wood around the tuning pegs. As the cracks are small at the moment its hard to tell if its a deeper crack through the wood or a split through the laquer. I have emailed Sandberg about it, asking whether I could get a replacement neck if need be, but havent heard anything back yet, so was wondering if anyone could give any advice on repairs that can be done or at least put my mind to rest. I know its not bad at the moment, but would rather be pro-active then end up with my headstock snapping through.

The photo below shows one of the splits.

  10. As others have said following the bass drums is a good plan and in faster sections with blast beating, I tend to find myself following the snare hits. I tend to just use my two fingers, but may use 3 if there's some triplets going down. Other than that, get all four of your fingers on the fretting hand working to follow rundowns/ups and to drop in some fills.

When recording its probably worth using a pick on faster sections to give some clarity.

  11. That does sound like a good option. A shop near me sells a load of Markbass stuff so that can be tried out easily. I have been toying with buying some effects recently. Ive had my same setup for almost 5 years, but for some reason ive suddenly got bored of it and want to try out as much as I can!

  12. Im in a band called Middenheim. We play Blackened Death Metal apparently and have been going since the end of 2006. We were using sequenced drums through our Keyboard (which soundguys hated), as we couldnt find a drummer in this area, but luckily we are now training one up ready for heavy gigging next year hopefully!

You can hear our stuff at www.myspace.com/middenheimuk

Let me know what any of you think!

  13. Im looking at buying a new amp fairly soon. The one I have at the moment just doesnt have the volume and even though I kind of like the sound, I know I can do better.

I have tried and liked the Ampeg SVT 3, but i'm wondering if anyone can make suggestions as to any alternative amps with similar sounds I could try? I am wanting to try out some of the SWR's out there, but cant find anywhere that has them. Ive also heard that Markbass are worth checking.
