Was 15 years ago now. He used it in a recording studio, but not sure what album it was.

I was once offered on of Steve Harris's old Fender Jazz basses for £750. It came with signed authentication but I didn't know who he was at the time. How silly, eh? Looks like a lovely bass.

Looks like a nice bass. I love a battered old jazz...
-
Good description of Primus!
-
What a horrid situation to be in. And a particularly odd one, too. Good luck!

I had an early 90s one (I guess) with J bass pickups and it was incredible. The only thing was I had a grounding problem at a massive gig and I couldn't trust it after that. Totally my fault. Wonder where that bass is now...?

Beautiful bass.
-
Oh that is an absolute beauty, and fantastic pictures too.

I used to have a salmon pink one and it was a stunning guitar. Not sure there is a Fender in that price range that compares really.
-
Oh, and my dads business imports things from Australia sometimes and the total import duty on this bass will be £835. The majority of that is VAT.

I believe that's good, old fashioned English sarcasm...

WE NEED PICTURES!

Beautiful looking bass that one, and a very impressive refinish indeed.
-
Hi mate, would you take a cash on collection offer for this?
-
I've sent a PM about this, might need it for a new project.
-
What a lovely looking guitar, and a great price.
It's none of my business but I think the pick guard may have been changed too - there are no holes for the bridge cover and there isn't a thumb-rest. Not a big deal though. What might help is taking the current pick guard off and then taking a quick picture of the body just to confirm its age.
Good luck with the sale, I love these old Fenders as working instruments. They're relatively cheap, sturdy and make a big sound! -
Nice bass. Always wanted one since I let a 67' go for £600 in 2002. Good luck with the sale!
-
Hehe. Boner.
-
I remember when you could get these things for £75. Should have bought them all!
-
Seems it already sold, can see why...
I have a 66 custom colour, and they are just lovely things. Matching headstock I think?
Good luck to the new owner! -
PM'd. I know I was looking for a pre-CBS, but I can't resist a custom colour jazz!

Something to keep in mind is that Paul often played root notes whilst recording then over-dubbed the melodic Basslines afterwards.
To understand what the Beatles were all about, go to your local library and get a few books. Revolution is a good one to pick up, covering all their tracks.
