I recently bought this amp, and in fact never used it in anger, but have been offered the chance to pick up a Wurlitzer 200a piano (it's too good an opportunity to miss!), so this is for sale.

The amp is in great condition and is absolutely amazing, especially for DB which is why I bought it. It's in fantastic condition, and comes with a Markbass case as well as the kettle lead and a speak-on to jack socket.

This can be yours for £215 delivered. Delivery will be fully insured and the amp with be packed wonderfully well.

Not sure what else you need to know, but definitely PM me if you want any pictures, come to see the amp itself or test it out (I'm in Bristol) and have a nice selection of DBs, guitars or basses you can try should you wish.

Yeah, just seen it! I've got a couple of friends playing over the weekend so may not be able to make it as I have to go and watch them.

Real shame, as its rare you get guys like that here.

I once did a gig with 'The Crazy World of Arthur Brown', and he was very friendly indeed, if totally bonkers. The Breeders had a few good songs actually.

St Georges in Bristol does classical and jazz gigs all the time. I reckon they'll be ok. I'll let you know and post a review.

Yeah. At £25, it's less than an hours lesson, so if I pick up something it'll be worth it. My wife is coming to, so it will be interesting to see what she makes of it!

It's the Bristol Jazz Festival in the next few weeks, and there's a pretty interesting double bass gig with Christian McBride and Edgar Meyer.

It's not often these sort of guys will end up in Bristol (or perhaps even the UK). Anyway, thought it might be worth sharing and might be some interest, so here you go...

I'm going for some inspiration and to hear someone that can actually get more than a dull thump out of their bass :-)

If you want to learn how to read rhythms then the Josquin DePres sight reading book is just brilliant. It's great to see a group of kids go from nothing to clapping out a whole musical score perfectly in time within an hour.

I can't praise this book enough, it means I can look at a piece of music and understand the rhythm pretty much straight away. Playing it properly, well, that's where it gets complicated!

Cheers Chris, that was when I was a callow youth. Now I'm older, wiser and somewhat larger I'd storm in there and get my money back. As it is, I've had a few PMs about this one and think I'll leave it.

Today I was reading about chap who got ripped off by a garage and decided to park his car in the entrance wy until the owner decided to come nd see him. Hilariously, it worked with the police there so support him.

As for something else on offer, I'm intrigued! Pop me through a PM with some info... Exciting!

Ahh OK, well, perhaps I'll leave it then. As much as a nice cheap Wal sounds good I'd prefer not to lost out on my money or go through handling stolen goods again (I once bought a David Eden amp from a shop in Bristol, only to find out it was stolen and be arrested by the police. I had the receipt, so all was OK - apart from losing all my money!).

Cheers Chris, you know these basses much better than I do! I'm an inveterate worrier. Off to pick this up early next week hopefully, I'll let you know how it goes.

I"ve had this checked out now by the wonderful chaps at Wal and the issue quite simply is that the nut has shifted, and will need to be replaced. It's going in for a full set up...

Now all I need to is to sell a 72 jazz bass to pay for it all!

I've been offered this bass for a reasonable price. What would you suggest I do about the mis-alignment?

I've contacted Wal about this... But any info would be appreciated.

I took my bass to master luthier Edward Gaut (lovely chap, fantastic work), and he found wool, fabric, a box of crayons, a big patch of Velcro and a box of candy cigarettes all inside... The mind boggles, but it was very funny.

This was a second hand beater bass from the 60s so has been around a lot, but I wonder what other people have found inside their basses?

I love how it's a 65 Jazz bass body. That thing is worth bout $10 regardless of where it came from!

I'm not sure what my cats would say about this.
