1. Aria P2 SB-R80 for "only" £950. Form an orderly queue.

http://www.ebay.co.u...S4AAOSw5dNWhWTv

The Spectrum bass for £165 starting bid is less spectacular.

But, here we have a bass that's just so MIJ that it's made in both the Fujigen and Matsumoku factories. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Satellite-Bass-1970s-MIJ-Through-Neck-Japan-P-Bass-P-Bass-Matsumoku-Fuji-Gen-/131687897880?hash=item1ea935db18:g:a0cAAOSwAKxWUkBH

Just a suggestion AT. Have you tried playing with the volume as there's a marked drop in output with both HTR pickups on full. Certainly I'd no complaints about
output when used independently.

The PJ HTR is £95 but I don't see many Rockbass 5'er below £200,any on the bay are £300 for used.Mind John P says he don't want to throw much money at it .
Rockbass asking prices on ebay are notoriously high. Mine cost me £115 on here, but I've frequently seen them sell for £100 or less. The PJs sell for about £60-70 second hand, I think.

I'll try different volume settings on the PJ. However, I think I have done this in the past.

The Harley Benton PJ 5 comes up as a deco frequently, less than £50 delivered. Worth the full price too.
IMHO, mine isn't as a good a five string bass as my (old-style, big logo) Rockbass Streamer Standard 5. They really are in different price ranges if you compare the new prices, but second hand prices are much less different. The Rockbass needs some sort of boost to the signal as the passive output is very low, but comes alive through my Harley Benton Graphic EQ. Even if I boost the output of the PJ 5, it isn't such a good sound IMHO. They are different sounds so that may be comparing apples to oranges, but I think that the boosted Streamer sound is good, the PJ 5 ... if I was going to keep it forever, I'd change the pickups.

I'm no bass expert, but that's my opinion.

The jack output on mine has high z & low z outputs but whether they're wired that way inside I couldn't say. It's a B-30 BK.
The bass uke preamps definitely have both.

I'm sorry but I don't understand this. How can a single jack be both high z and low z? I assumed that the jack would be high z and the XLR would be low z.

6. Dekos on the main site.

Anybody get anything?

They sound like unreleased Zappa tunes, or maybe Beefheart.
I'm influenced by both. I've just bought the Roxy Blu-ray but haven't had a chance to play it yet. Bands/Composers like Zappa, Beefheart, and the Terrortones have it relatively easy with as their niche not only allows unusual song titles, it's expected. If I had been deliberately making Zappa or Beefheart style titles, I would have gone even weirder though :)

It's a challenge to come up with more straightforward titles which have a good chance of being original. All of these have had a very quick check on google. I've rejected some song titles where there was something similar. E.g. "The River Flows on Forever" - there is a "The River that Flows Forever." I've tried to not cheat by swapping words - E.g. I could have gotten away with "The Amazon Flows Forever", but don't feel that would be right.

Heart like a Hornet
You Told Me Nothing
Four String Symphony
Sail Away from You
Morning Lake Light
Lady Play that Bass
Cold Wind Coming
One More Train to Ride ---------- (there's a book called this, about hobos)
(You Never Gave Me) Mercy
Faster than a Falcon
Alone on the Summit ---------- (Stephen Venables wrote 'Alone at the Summit' - I want to read it now)
It's Hiding in my Heart
Your Sister Loves me More ----------- (Too many of these might only work in C&W)
She Dances in the Flames ------- getting too long
Your Love is in your Motion
He Loves You More
Fifteen Miles from You
Keeps Me Missing You ---- too many 'you's.
(Too Much Light) At Night
You Never Made Things Right

This may be getting self-indulgent. I'll stop.
