  1. Hi Would you consider splitting? I'd be after the cab and can collect. Thanks

  4. I have a GB spitfire and can honestly say its the best all round bass I have ever owned! I know Bernie personally and he's a great guy-always got time for a chat and will sort any problems that you may have (although I've never had any!) Sound-wise, I have an old 63 Jazz and would say that the sound is quite a bit different, more linear, although the pick-ups in the spitfire are so powerful you can get pretty much any sound you want. Bernie can also change any aspect of the pre-amp/ pick up set up (ie frequency sweeps etc) that you want as the pre-amps have been designed 'in house' and not bought in from any other manufacturer. Word of warning though-most spitfires have 18v circuitry so you need an amp with alot of balls to handle it, and also to get the best sound out of the bass! Hope this helps
  5. Thanks guys-I had a little fumble around under her neckline (as is the norm when you're dating) and the serial begins with an E which would seem to suggest she is a 1979 model. Being that this was the year I was born, it would indicate the she is old enough to be by mother. Or older sister. Either way, its incest so I shall no longer be continuing with the dating. Incidently, I shall shortly be selling the old girl-pics to follow!! Many thanks
  6. Hi everyone I purchased a Precision bass from a reputable shop in London about ten years ago and was told it was a 1978, however as a fretless neck had replaced the original there was no serial number on the headstock. Is there any other way of telling the age of this bass and are the serial numbers printed anywhere else on the bass besides the headstock? Many thanks Steve
