  1. With much regret am listing this gorgeous bass guitar from Marks's stable of relic'd basses. Currently not playing &, anno domini rushing on, I have decided to let one or two treasures move on to pastures new.

3.7kg, superbly put together, growls like a good jazz bass should do without breaking your shoulder to get the tone. Relicing is superb & have added the bridge cover in keeping with the rest of the instrument. Currently strung with EB cobalt rounds though have also used it with flats as well. Dunlop straplock buttons on but have got the original Fender style ones which will fit back on.

Neck is P-style, lovely grain, very easy to play. Plenty of life left in the frets.

Sorry, no case but will be well packaged & will add decent gig bag as well.

Please note: This is being sold as a Limelight guitar, not as a Fender.

  3. X-Vive appears to be a good system but have now experienced two sets which have just died & not been resurrectable. I have the XU3 microphone one which is built like a tank & have had no issues with at all.

On my pedalboard I've opted for the Shure GLX-D, body pack style but neat & sits on board & has built-in tuner as well. Expensive but works really well & very flexible.

Have also got a Lekato WS-50 which I use for practice & rehearsals & that seems much more robust than the XVive IMO

  4. I've got one & it has a very versatile sound range. Unfortunately got it just before lockdown so have only used it in anger once & it drove my BF Super Twin really smoothly, no problems keeping up with a loud drummer.

Really like the compressor on it & it does have an effect.

Need more gigs to be really sure but works rally well with my Super Compact at low volume at home.

  5. Met with Pete this lunchtime in Dorchester after cancelled trip to Bournemouth on Friday. Met halfway - fair compromise!

Purchased gorgeous Sherwood Green Limelight Jazz from him. Great bass, good price & as easy a transaction as you could wish for.

Communications throughout superb, a worthy member of this community, deal with confidence.

Hope there was a parking space when you get home!

  6. Spotted Paul's ad for Limelight Jazz & had been thinking about one of these to go with my P Bass.

Offered a suitable trade & had pleasant run out from the West Country & met up in services car park & did the deal.

Great bloke to deal with, could have chatted for hours but time pressures........

Bass is exactly what I wanted, plays superbly. Highly recommended BassChatter., deal with confidence.

    • Thanks 1
  7. Bought a Barefaced Super Compact from Ash. Discussed Sunday, arrived today. Packaging top class, no problems there.

Excellent communication throughout, a true pleasure to deal with, highly recommended.

    Deal with confidence.

    Apologies, wrong Ash, sorry

  8. Bought this lovely little amp from Wembley Bass Centre, principally as a back up to my main amp.

Have used it for some rehearsals but never gigged. Like the relatively simple tone section but is not getting any use at the moment due to the lockdown so am taking the opportunity to lighten my gear load.Plenty of info online

Is in immaculate condition with carry bag & locking IEC power cord. Am not looking for trades so please don't ask

Have got all original packaging so will be securely shipped. Prefer buyer to sort out their own shipping & will supply weights & dimensions.

  9. Have tried a range of wireless units over the last few of years - started with a Samson 'bug' system & progressed to a L6 G50 which worked well, but sold when I wasn't playing for a while {!!}, as you do.

Had a smoothhound which I liked but it didn't like my stingray so sold to to fellow bc'er who loves it.

Liked to look of the X-Vive because it took the cables out of the equation, particularly when not using pedal board but ,again, didn't like Stingray and kept getting drop-outs. Interestingly I have the XU3 microphone ststem which I think is brilliant & have no problems with.

On to the L6 g10s which worked perfectly for about 6 months then plugged the bug in to recharge & failed to connect so to do. Sent back for repair only to be told parts could not be found  - fortunately given full refund. Interestingly this model now doesn't appear on L6 site.

Did some research & decided, despite the price, to go for the Shure model, got the GLXD16 Beta at a good price from Andertons. Has the advantage of going on pedal board & also has a built-in tuner. This all occured around lockdown so haven't gigged it in anger yet.

Bought a set of Lekato WS-50 just for practice & these seem fine but not going to use for gigs.

Technology is wonderful when it works. When it doesn't............
