  1. Hi folks has anyone had any experience with the Ampeg svt 212av cabs , I’ve read great reports from other forums but wanted to see if anyone here had tried them thanks Stuart
  2. I also play in a Ska / Reggae band thats great info thank you really appreciate that Stuart
  3. Thanks Mcnach really appreciate your reply very useful info the reason for asking about the 800watt is I read a post from someone a while back saying it wasn’t loud enough even cranked right up which concerned me as I play in a 9 piece band with brass etc and there is always a lot of sound and often volume on stage so I need amp that can have great volume abilities if and when needed thanks again Stuart
  4. Thanks appreciate the reply Stu
  5. Thank you Deepbass that is a very helpful reply I really appreciate that best regards Stuart
  6. Actually would be running it through a 2ohm rig as thinking of getting 2 x 4ohm cabinets , that was one of the features that attracted me having the ohm selector switch
  7. Hi guys has anyone tried the Mesa Subway d800 + would really like to know your thoughts it sounds great on paper Good sound options ? does the stated 800watt seem accurate ? I would be running it through a 4ohm rig thank you for any thoughts
  8. Hi BeardyBob I’m looking to change my set up to a one cab rig and also love the Ampeg tone , are you able to push the Heritage 410hlf pretty hard without the speakers farting out ? can it get loud only asking as I play in a 9 piece Ska band and there’s a lot of sound on stage and not quiet thanks stu
  9. Thanks BassAdder appreciate your reply certainly well worth me looking into stu
  10. Just didn’t have the sound I was after I like the deep full bass thump , the more classic Ampeg sound but to my ears it wasn’t that sound but I’m sure lots of other people would like it Stu
  11. Thanks Nas yep heard a lot of good things re Bergantino gear certainly would be worth trying out , I think the Bass direct place stocks their gear so worth me popping up to them to have a look Appreciate your thoughts thanks Stu
  12. Thanks Lozz really appreciate your input 👍
  13. I did try the Barefaced 610 and found it wasn’t the sound I was after thanks Stu
  14. Yep I think there meant to be nice sounding cabs but I think with the band set up ( 9 piece Ska band ) I would need two 212 cabs to get some height and to be able to hear it and I think the Ampeg 212’s are 4ohm and my ABM 600 couldn’t work with a 2ohm rig otherwise I would consider a 412 rig thanks again for thoughts 👍
  15. I did pop down to Barefaced and tried out their 610 but it wasn’t the cab for me unfortunately but very nice people
  16. Hi guys I’ve got an Ampeg itch that is proving difficult not to scratch but I know i may well regret hefting it around , the Ampeg would be an svt 610 , I just love the depth and thump of them . Question is is there a light weight alternative that gives that depth of sound ideally a one cab but two light weight options would be considered ive done a ton of research but as it’s so difficult these days finding a shop with any stock haven’t managed yet to try anything out Thanks for any thoughts Stu
  17. Good suggestions thanks for that Stu
  18. Thanks for the reply really useful info Stu
  19. Thanks for reply bassAdder appreciate that stu
  20. Thanks for that yep I still feel I need something with a little height so it’s not just my knees hearing the sound , I play in a 9 piece Ska band and with our stage set I’m very close to my rig , to save lugging both my cabs around I have tried using just the 410 before but just couldn’t hear it as it was so low down , obviously I understand that it dropped my rig to 8ohm’s so wasn’t getting full power from the amp , just want to ditch the 410 / 115 set up I’ve used for many years for ideally a one cab solution but like I say I think it still needs to have some height to it , another option is to put a smaller cab on a stand / plinth but then again that’s another piece of equipment to carry which kind of defeats the object I would consider the Ampeg neo cabs modular set 410 / 210 but there appears to be very few people who have used those plus would be a very pricy rig which is not ideal but still interested to hear what they’re like thanks again stuart
  21. Thanks Roger appreciate your reply did you find you could push it pretty hard without it breaking up stu
  22. Thanks Lozz really appreciate your reply best regards Stuart
  23. Hi guys has anyone had experience with the Ampeg svt 610 hlf As they’re only a 600 watt cab can they get loud without the speakers farting out , I play in a 9 piece band so there’s a lot of sound on stage so really need to hear myself. currently using Ashdown ABM 410 / 115 cabs with ABM 600 evo IV Also has anyone had experience with the Ampeg neo cabs as thinking whether the 410 / 210 neo as an option , just can’t find equipment to try out in the shops these days thanks guys
