1. Anyone fancy playing bass with us? - we are based around Guildford/Farnborough/Camberley/Woking/Wokingham/Reading etc, with both Female and Male vocals and both keys and guitar. Normal popular pub fare but with some not-so-overplayed songs as well.
 2. Great stuff - does this mean you're interested in the instro band??? We use Mick's studio at the Bedfont Community Centre in Hatton Rd
 3. 'Twang' - as I said, we aim to build an eclectic playlist, anything is in scope. Devon is quite far, but we do have a cars..... seriously, if it interests you, let's chat. Good point re the attachment, but as you can see in the chain above, I have shared my email address [a little 'obfusticated' coz I believe they don't like us posting email addr in forums?], anyone who wants a direct attachment and/or some more details drop me a line!
 4. This sounds great - and a Fretless Godin must be awesome, I'd love to hear that! Don't worry - I'm about the same age Could you maybe drop me an email to jthomas1 -at- hotmail dot co dot uk and I'll reply with the files & more details.
 5. Anyone interested in an instrumental band? Our aim is to evolve a very eclectic repertoire (so we can tailor the playlist to the gig/venue); Shadows, Ventures, jazz/lounge (like Breezin' etc), Santana, Gary Moore, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Joe Satriani.... Not high-pressure, we all have other bands, families, work commitments etc. I have attached the list we (lead gtr, rhythm gtr + drums) have covered so far for interest.
 6. Hey WalBassist thanks for the reply, let's have a chat offline, drop me a mail -> "][email protected]
 7. Sh*t I'd love this but I'm too far from Yorkshire
 8. Sounds interesting. I'm an experienced lead gtr (over 30 years), but I'm afraid not much vocal ability. Based in Hampshire but travel no issue. Can't do much duriing the week, though, due to business travel. Drop me a line if you're interested and I'll send you more details.
 9. This is a long shot, but - enthusiastic "mature" guitarist and drummer would love to find a bassist with lead vocals to form a power trio. Into classic rock and/or blues but pub crowd-pleasers not out of the question as well. Or of course a bassist who knows a singer......
 10.
Good News Justin If it doesn't work out get in touch S
PM'ed you !
 11.
Hmmmmm intresting !!
Hi everyone - we have now found someone. Thanks very much to all for your interest. All the best Justin (Crossfire)
 12.
Sounds fun! I'm an experienced bassist (aged 44) in all the genres you're looking for, a fast learner with a good ear, live in Horsham but have reliable transport & will travel. Currently I play for 24 Carat Purple (www.24caratpurple.com - I'm a founder member, the tall one with the short hair!) and Kerosene (a pub covers band) and am permanently depping for Deeply Purple (www.deeplypurple.co.uk), but am looking for something a little different while maintaining all these. We're not usually that busy, truth be told! So I'm interested! Email on [email protected] if you are! Cheers, Peter
Thanks Peter Have sent you an email.....
 13. Thanks - good point! - I intended to share this info when contacted but I guess it does make more sense to put it on the 'ad' !

As you can see from the subtitle, we are fairly well spread geographically, so we tend to rehearse somewhere in the middle - normally at Airplay in Sunbury or Ruff Rockers in Uxbridge, but it's not cast in stone. We intend to rehearse about twice a month with the new bassist, but then as needed once we have the repertoire nailed.
Yes we have been gigging for the last 18 months or so, but not as often as we'd like! We are aiming to gig about 1 - 2 times per month ideally. See website (below) for gig history.
Yes, we get paid for gigs, we are not pro but we are normally paid the going rate when playing in pubs etc.
Lineup: lead vocalist, lead gtr, rhythm gtr, drums, bass
Standard: not really for us to say! - but we are all very experienced ( > 30 years playing), 2 of the guys are ex-pro, we go for a good sound and accuracy (not jammers!).
We have our own website with more general info, playlists and MP3s -> www.crossfire-band.co.uk
Many thanks Justin
 14. We are an experienced Classic Rock band (you know - Hendrix, Cream, Gary Moore, Free/Bad Co, Deep Purple/Rainbow/Whitesnake, Led Zep, ZZ Top,......) in need of a good solid like-minded bassist! Please get in touch for more info....
 15.
Bassist available (45), previous band experience, into most types of music, anything from Rock, Blues & Punk to Soul & Motown. Looking for an older local band near Leatherhead, Surrey. Good gear.
Hiya Our bassist has just had to 'resign' due to business and family commitments. We are a semi-pro classic rock outfit; based kinda around Guildford [actually we are spread between Beaconsfield and Farnborough(Hants) but geography isn't too important to us]. We are 'mature' and experienced and would like to gig around 1-2 times per month [not too onerous]. Have a look at [ www.crossfire-band.co.uk ] and come back to me if this sounds interesting! All the best Justin
 16. We are looking for a bass player for our new band - as the title says, pubs, clubs and later maybe blues venues etc. All experienced musos, with contacts and agency interest. Please contact me for more details and a sample playlist.
 17.
AVAILABLE AGAIN
Would Hampshire (Farnborough based) be too far for you?
 18.
Good luck with that, I like JS. Anyone who want to get in some practice:Link - I haven't bought it yet, but hope to soon.
Thanks - useful link - so are you interested at all?
 19.
You forgot to mention where you're based. I happen to know that it's Farnborough, but most people wouldn't. S.P.
Thanks Stylon - yes I'm from Farnborough, the other guys are from Guildford and Beaconsfield - so pretty well spread! We normally use Airplay Studios in Ashford (near Sunbury) for practices but we're not hung up on geography - the idea is to gig anywhere between Portsmouth and Watford (or even beyond if we get the offer!).
 20. We are starting a Joe Satriani tribute, and seek a like-minded bassist - obviously you must know and like Satch music, particularly the earlier stuff. This is a side project, we don't aim to gig too often, but we do aim to gig! Drop me an email for more info
 21. New band - experienced musos - aiming to play a mix of Cream, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Rainbow, Whitesnake, Led Zep, Gary Moore, ZZ Top, Paul Rodgers, G'nR, some Satriani intstrumentals..... we just need a good bassist! BVs would be an advantage. Looking to play no more than about 12 - 20 times per year, rehearse once a week initially.
