  1. NOW £20

La Bella 760FM strings. Used for a couple of months on my Precision bass but in the end I've gone back to the slightly lighter gauge 760FS. Pretty broken in but still loads of life left. Price includes UK postage.

    Here's what LaBella say:

Since the 50s and 60s, La Bella's DEEP TALKIN' BASS Stainless Steel Flat Wounds have been the choice of professional bass players and continue to be the standard for the best sounding Flat Wounds on the market.

Stainless Steel Flat Wound; hand-polished for incredibly smooth finish

    Medium Tension

    String Gauges: .049, .069, .089, .109

    Standard Long Scale Set

Made in the USA with American Wire

Packaged using MAP Technology (Modified Atmosphere Packaging) to prevent tarnishing and ensure freshness

All standard bass sets are LONG scale length. The 1st (G), 2nd (D), 3rd (A) strings are 38” from ball-end to silk/taper. The 4th (E) string is 36 ¾” from ball-end to silk/taper. Only the silk portion of the string should wrap around the tuning post or else the string will break.

This particular set is NOT suitable for basses with bridges that require strings to pass through the body of the instrument.

  2. I have two unopened packets of La Bella 760FS Deep Talkin' Bass strings for sale - looking for £35 each and that includes UK postage.

I had some issues with a set of La Bella strings a couple of weeks ago (a dud G string in a set) and they were kind enough to send some replacements. However, in that time I ended up switching to the slightly heavier gauge 760FM and so these two packets of strings are surplus to requirement.

These are their standard gauge strings, 45-105. Both packets are brand new and unopened.

    Thanks,

    Chris.

  3. Just wanted to give an update on this - took my bass to a luthier and they identified a slight ski slope at the bottom of the neck. Took the frets out, sorted out the bump and re-fretted the neck. After putting the same La Bella strings back on, the buzz reappeared. The fretwork has certainly helped as it now plays much better in the higher register, but the strange sitar like buzzing from the G string is still present. The luthier did a great job and is very experienced but even he couldn't get to the bottom of it. He suggested it might be an issue with the strings themselves.

Went down a bit of a rabbit hole and discovered that this is an issue that some others have experienced with La Bella strings - particularly the G string. Sure enough, if I string my bass with different strings then the issue disappears. Furthermore, putting the buzzing string on another bass creates the exact same issue - so I am certain that it is the string.

I have tried a couple of sets of La Bellas and unfortunately all have had the same issue. I've been in touch with the shop I purchased them from, as well as La Bella themselves, and both have shown great customer service - should have some replacements coming soon.

I'm hoping that I have just been unlucky here, as I've never had any issues with La Bella's in the past.

  4. Bought these flats to try them out, but after putting them on my bass and playing for about 30 mins I decided they weren't for me. These are uncut and practically new.

For some reason the packet says 45-105 on the top, but everywhere else says 55-105. I assume this is a printing error because these strings are 55-70-90-105.

    Prince includes UK postage.

    Thanks,

    Chris.

  5. Hello,

Having some issues with my precision bass and was wondering if anyone could help me out...

I had a set of LaBella flatwounds on my bass for around four years, and unfortunately the low E broke on a gig the other night. I immediately changed the strings for the same gauge of LaBellas (45-105) and began to have some serious buzzing on the D and G strings from around the 12th fret onwards.

I have raised the saddles slightly which didn't seem to make much difference, and the neck relief feels and looks fine - it should be the same tension as the old strings?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated as I'm a little baffled as to why this has suddenly become a problem. Played absolutely fine before and I'm using the same gauge of strings.

    Thanks,

    Chris.

  6. Custom made flight case for the Ampeg V4B Reissue. I had this made fairly recently by Castle Cases as I needed a flight case but could not find any off the shelf options for this amp. As it turns out I ended up picking up an SVT shortly after and so the V4b, and this case, ended up staying at home. As a result it is in excellent condition.

It's fairly bulky so collection only on this one, although I do travel around a fair bit for gigs so please get in touch if you're interested.

    Internal dimensions 605mm W x 285mm D x 275mm H.

If you would like any more pictures or have any questions then please let me know.

    Cheers,

    Chris.
