1. I've got a fender p bass pup that has come out of my 86/87 mij bass in relatively good nick and in full working order, also got a red t/shell p bass scratchplate from that bass in good condition as well and a white jazz bass scratchplate from my old MIM jazz also in good condition, all going cheap :)

£20 for the pup NOW SOLD
£10 for the p scratchplate NOW SOLD
£5 for the jazz scratchplate NOW SOLD

    cheers
    Rob

  2. Having read Peter's review of the booster i decided a few weeks ago to take the plunge and put one in my mid 80's mij fender P, to cut a long story short i ran out of wire when installing it and had to strip all the controls from the bass as i had some recording to do, fast forward a few weeks via my LGS and i have got my Pbass back today with a wizard thumper pup, stacked vol/tone and villex booster installed and i must say i have struggled to put the bass down since i got back from picking it up, i went with a stacked 500k pot and the extended treble has brought the bass to life in a way and i have found all 3 boost positions very pleasing to the ear and like Peter i'm loving position 3 on the booster with the tone fully open. It is a great piece of kit and for the money i'm well impressed with the versatility my bass now has to offer. Nice one Villex :)

  3.
Yes, works just fine - although you'll either need the newer version with the higher (line level) output, a sensitive power amp input or something to boost the level if it's the older version.
cheers for that, if its an older one i get would something like a MXR micro amp or such other booster in the chain after the BDDI be sufficent?

  4. Dunno if this is in the right place but here goes, well i've had a go of a sansamp bddi and i like the tone i get from it, and was wondering if anyone had used it with a poweramp and used it to either reherse or practice with? It seems like a good back saving/space saving idea to me or am i talking rubbish? Help :)

  5. Well after recently having a long hard think about my basses and in search of my sound I sold off my two basses and picked this up from thedontcarebear. Its a 86/87 MIJ fender precision bass, I added the black scratchplate as I'm a sucker for sunburst/black combos and its now strung with D'Addario half rounds (55-110). Bass wise I'm 100% gass free for the moment, although a matching jazz would be rather tempting :)

  7.
This thread is not helping my GAS at all. I need a new cab and cant afford that. Now I am itching to drop a pair of these in my Jazz!

Between Basschat and talkbass I am sure I am gonna end up bust by the end of the year!
Tell me bout it Bob, I've not even got my Pbass yet but i'm gonna get a thumper for it when i get paid :)

  8. I had a go of the tour 450 in soundcontrol in edinburgh a month or so ago and it sounded pretty good to me through the peavey 1x15 it was hooked upto. didn't have much time to have a propper play about with the octave thingy but for less than £300 with pleny of features it gets a thumbs up from me.
