1. Time to sell this rare wee pedal I say rare as its the prototype of Max's red dragon booster/overdrive

http://www.sfxsound....microreddragon/

This one is a regular mxr size enclosure with a few options which didn't make the micro version these are a selectable gain switch which gives 3 levels of gain from boost to slight breakup to overdrive and a 3 way tone switch which gives you 2 different freqs and a bypass. I love this pedal and its been a mainstay on my board for about 7 years but its time to move it on to free up some space. Condition wise its in good nick with a couple of small knicks in the paint and velcro on the base.

After £45 O.N.O posted for this payment by the usual suspects (bank transfer/paypal gift cash on collection)

As a matter of interest, do you not find the tuner on the b3 good enough or do you use the tuner for sonethin else? Killswitch fir example? I only ask cos my b3 tunes perfectly! I've noticed a few folk do it.

The tuner on the B3 is good enough, I just prefer having the PB to kill the signal when I'm tuning up

korg pitchblack sfx red dragon prototype and a zoom b3

4. Well my deko b-30 bk arrived today and here's my thoughts so far......The action is fine out the box (once it was tuned up) one tiny blemish on the top near the EQ section and a black mark on the binding at the soundhole, there are also a few loose fret ends on the treble side but tbh nowt that half an hour with some superglue and a clamp won't fix! The bronze strings that came on it are alright for now, not sure about what I'll put on maybe some nylons? Sounds pretty good acoustically and trough my amp oh and it's a 5 string fretless according to the label, So in all for £43 it's A fantastic wee (big) bass that'll come in handy I recon :)

Edit. Is it bad that I'm considering the 5 string fret less 😁

5. Been having a look at one of these for a little while and if you compare the models on the thomman website the main difference is tbe decoration basses have 23 frets to the standard models having 24 frets.

This is the 'decorative' bass

This is the normal model

Identical apart from the number of frets

6. Three which is the most amount I've had in the last 9 years.

1. MIJ Fender Deluxe Jaguar
2. Korean epiphone thunderbird modded with gibson pups and a hipshot supertone
3. Unknown brand p bass bought from a mate for £30 with EMG pickup, wilkinson bridge and brass nut.

Covers most bases nicely for my needs

Bass playing friend of mine has just bought one of these exactly the same as this one. I've had a play on it and was pretty smitten with it. Really lovely neck, great range of tones and impeccable fit and finish. These were never on my radar before but definitely are now. I've just sold my Jazz too.hmmmm........

I got mine from red dog music in Edinburgh for a good price. Although on the website when I ordered it they had the pic of the older one up 3ts, born tort pg and 80's pickup spacing and was pleasantly surprised when I got one of the newer ones.

8. Me and the mrs were over in Edinburgh on monday and while doing the rounds of the music shops on our route I came across a new MIJ Fender Deluxe Jaguar, we didnt have time for me to have a right go on it but after a bit of a conflab on the way home I ordered it online when we got back home. It arrived this mornkng and after having a lil time to play around with it i can say its a cracking bass, although my one gripe would be that the sheilding on all the cavities haven't been linked so unless I'm touching a metal part there is a bit of a background hum, nowt a wee bit of copper tape and an hour wont cure though. I might change out the scratchplate though, not a massive fan of parchment/mint I think it'd look better with black or brown tort

Yeah but I went with a higher quality OBBM version so I have no bleed, cheaper cables might be wired less carefully.

Cool cheers Ste :)

10. After reading pt6 would something like this be the ticket when using the sonic port to record the two channel set up into a PC?
