1.
They're probably only going to be interested if they can stock it - which begs the question, will it be sold to distributors or will it be direct sale only?
at the moment only direct sales. i will try to contact molan and ask about it.
2.
Maybe basschat favourite Wunjo on Denmark St might be up for hosting a demo as well.
yeah, but if the bassguitarshow is at the same day it would be good to be there, since it is not likely that many bass players will come to another place :-)
3.
lokki I'll come to London bass guitar show, if you need a bass player
haha, i think i am going to play myself... although the point would be that interested people could try it. so not much playing from me.
4.
http://www.londonbassguitarshow.com yep, if you can bring it to the show for everyone to try that would be awesome.
ok i think i will bring it there. but is there a place where i can setup the pedal and everybody can try? is there someone on the forum that organises this bassguitarshow?
5. do i get a spot here? http://www.londonbassguitarshow.com/exhibitors/ ;-)
6. had no idea that there is one. on that day, really? i'm from switzerland so it's all new to me :-)
7. ok, i thought since this is a uk forum i suggest something for you: i will play a show in london in march with an orchestra. if there is serious interest (and somebody willing to organise a room) i could take the pedal with me and anybody that is in london and interested could test it then. what do you think? this way you know what you buy!
8. look here for infos on shipping and such: https://www.facebook.com/futureimpact1/
9. well the enclosures were drawn and planned by him, i don't think he melted the aluminium on it's own :-) but, still getting only 100 enclosures from a melting company costs much more then 10000 or so. it's actually hard to guess the market i think. bass synth pedals are a niche. bass playing is already a niche :-) but i also think this pedal should sell like crazy!!!
10. this will sure be released on demand. andras (the dev) makes the first 100. if he can sell them, he will make more, don't worry!
11. i have only played the original once on a stage. i would say it is at least as good probably more robust. tracking also depends a little on the sounds you program. the sounds on the d.i. all have some clean blended in which masks some glitches. the sounds i recorded are mostly without clean blend, so that is the worst tracking you can get... :-)
12. also with the digitech bass whammy you just get a pedal with pre-programmed sounds. here you can edit every parameter, save 99 presets, play it with a keyboard (as a monophonic synth) etc.
13.
Well, primarily there have been many pedals issued that sound excellent in demo's but when coming to play just don't have the same 'vibe' and simplicity as a Deep Impact. This does sound more like it, and the original developer is involved, however until I have tried one in the flesh it is difficult, particularly when this appears to be the first pedal Panda Audio have actually released. At a £300 price point, it is a huge risk for the buyer and I was really hoping for something much more competitive. The last of the Deep Impacts were selling at clearance for around £89 as I recall. Digitech re-released the Bass Whammy at a great price point (very similar vintage appeal/price to Deep Impact), its sold well and killed the vintage Bass Whammy prices. I don't think this will kill the Deep Impact off, unless it really is as good as you describe. What would have perhaps been a great idea is to sell the first XX number at a lower price so you have a few of the pedals out there to be reviewed by DI users, which would really help drive up the interest and willingess to spend big bucks. I have not listened to your demo yet, it may change my mind
yeah well, it's hard to argue about the price. listen to the demos, i was literally blown away myself! i think now that the price is justified it is so much more than the deep impact, which only sold at £89 because nobody wanted them anymore :-) but i can understand that it seems to be a high price. keep in mind that the dev does all the work on his own, so basically it's a one man business. considering boutique pedals selling at 350$... well i think the price is ok :-)
14. sure, most of them will be programmed in when shipped. there will also be a forum on the panda audio site where everybody can share presets. i will upload them there as well.
15. officially in january 2016...so about one month from now :-) price is: 314 euro without vat. around 25 euro shipping. add your local taxes to that. price with vat is 399 euro.
16. ok, here are some demo sounds i programmed :-) i was just playing whatever came to my mind with the sound i had selected. was a little bit in a hurry so don't expect the greatest groove or lines or whatever....often i let the last note ring out, just so you get an idea how the sound develops and how well this thing tracks and how smoothly notes fade... https://soundcloud.com/simon-iten-294936446/sets/future-impact-demo have fun. there are some sounds that only use the bass signal and envelope filter, no synth. it should be really obvious what is what. otherwise just ask. use headphones or a good p.a. :-)
17.
ahh. Thanks for clearing that up. I guess it lost something in translation. Does he mean the drum sounds too?
yep. there is a noise source in the synth as well.
18.
"All instruments of the music what you hear now were recorded with Future Impact only. So the Deep Impact sounds were not recorded?
no what he meant was, that the intro music was done completely with future impact sounds...
19. first samples are on youtube: https://youtu.be/G0A-3MnNrWw
20. i found tracking to be very good on the test unit i have. it is monophonic, but most bass synths are. i can guarantee you the power of the processor is pretty well used :-) there are quite some new things sound wise.
21. the main reasons the pedal will not be reissued by akai are twofold. first the market it not big enough...never was. and second they don't have andras (the dev) on board anymore. he works for his own company and for fishman now. that is why i approached him and he agreed to do the reissue with his small company. he has the source code from the old version, so his reissue is definitely going to be very legit! he uses a new chip, faster and more available/modern. the chip is far more powerful, but he emulated the old chip behaviour to get the sounds from the deep impact into the new pedal. (non perfect filter response and such) they are stored on preset 0-9. 10-99 are free for new, powerful sounds exceeding the possibilities of the deep impact by a factor 100 or whatever :-)
