Hi folks,
I’ve just put a pickup up for sale in the classifieds and there’s a warning/! Triangle next to the post. Not sure if it’s available for people to see, but have I done something wrong with the listing?
cheers

Scouring around, there doesn’t seem to be a much in the way of stock so maybe production has ceased.

I've used picato, la bella and Rotosound, sonically picato flats are very thumpy in tone, closer to la bella. Rotos have more mids.
The choice is yours.
That’s kind of what I was hoping to hear that, they have similar qualities to labella’s but not quite so spendy! Think I’ll be giving them another go.
thanks for the input all.

Hi folks,
what are people’s thoughts on these flats? And how do they compare to La Bellas and other brands.
i tried a set when I first started playing and was really surprised by the classic sound they produced. I never had them on for long as they weren’t ideal for the pub covers band I was playing in but since acquiring a second p bass, I was gonna have one bass with flats and one with rounds.
From my brief experience with them , I liked the sound and feel so will most likely be buying some again. Just wondering if others have had good or bad experience with them.cheers!

Hmmm, was just thinking of moving my sub on. Don’t like the sound of this sellers remorse.

Not really sure what the problem is but I have my brother in laws 92 stingray 2 band. This also seems to suffer from a lack of output. Up against my P bass and a usa Sub Ray it’s like it’s being played with the volume rolled back a third.
I also think there could be a fault in the preamp

Just bought a Musicman Sub from Clint.
top fella to deal with. Many thanks!

I tried some on recommendation and they definitely have that old school vibe going on. Very slick too compared to chromes and EB cobalts. I would have kept them on but not really suited to the pub covers band I'm in. If I was in a Motown covers band they'd be perfect!

I use a Yamaha thr10 as a practice amp for bass and guitar. it does a lovely job for bass. My son keeps pinching it to plug in his electric drums too. Very versatile bit of kit.

Just got back from andertons actually. Empty handed though😕
I took my brother in laws stingray with me to get a comparison but in fact, there is no comparison.
The fender was actually a really nice bass to play. The neck felt great but looked a bit bland and pasty. Looked solidly build and no sharp frets which I've seen a few reviews mention. Plenty of tonal options but they all sounded very similar to my ibanez srx530 and nothing stingray like at all.
I shall continue my search for a stingray! -
Any love for the dimension bass out there and can it make stingray noises? Might go and try one out on Saturday but have seen a few negative views on them.
Be interested to hear what folks think!

Just get divorced & employ avoidance tactics, apparently possession is 9, 10'ths of the law :-)

Lol, that's the best advice yet. Especially the divorce part! -

Early 90's Stingrays tick all the box's for me, 3 band, figured & lacquered necks, mutes, truss rod wheel & contoured body.

I think that's the era I'm gonna try for. My brother in laws stingray just feels right. Shame he won't sell it to me, even though I have rescued it from his loft! -

If it's a 93 it won't be a Stingray Classic, they are a much more recent addition to the range.
[/quote]
Is it a pre classic classic! Definitely 93 though. He bought it new and keeps the receipt in the case. Was there just one standard spec around this era apart from the eq? -
Fingers crossed I'll be having a tinkle on that sunburst one if I don't get pipped to the post. It's only a 30 min drive from me too!!!!
I'll buy you a packet of biscuits of your choice if it all works out!
