  1. One  GK microcombo - MB150E - works but it cut out on me once in a gig so I dont use it.

One GK microcombo head - MBS - III - when turn knobs it crackles a lot and cuts out - suspect needs resoldering inside

    Both cosmetically excellent.

I havent the time or talent to repair them.

All for free if collected from Nottingham NG9

  2. I doubt if any of us are expert on Guittarons, but the last two posts make the key points clearly . We all expect well-made and immaculately finished instruments, because these are the standards set by the mass market factories in US, Korea, Japan and China. We expect good luthiers to aspire to these, and to add extra quality that justifies the extra cost. But good and bad are relative , and I guess standards differ in different countries. A luthier in Mexico selling to the local market may have a different perspective. Look at Greek bouzoukis, which vary enormously in their finish quality. Whilst many I'm sure are produced for tourists, others are played. Unfortunately a poor build means less years of useful life, and many Greek zouks simply don't last.

I suspect this Guittaron is an instrument destined for the local market. Sell it as such, and someone may buy it.  It's the only guitar-shaped bass instrument that can comfortably hold its own in an acoustic session.

....oops, I spent so long writing this the conversation has moved on. Im sure you are selling honestly.

    Good luck with the sale.

  4. Re-posted , as the mods pointed out I messed up on the first ad !

Price above shows the total amount, but all items are, of course, for sale separately.

This is the classic GK microcombo. Portable and great tone. I've been playing these almost exclusively with electric bass for years. The amp of choice for many upright players.  Along the way I've accumulated a few too many of these, and  I'm letting the ones that have developed faults go at a bargain basement price to anyone who wants to repair them.

    A. MB150E Combo . This works fine, and has never gone into safe mode, but it needs a new speaker . £50    now SOLD

    B. MB150E Combo . This works fine, but has occasionally gone into safe mode (silent) when gigging.  I have used it since for practice.  £50 now SOLD

    C. Warwick Rockbag, designed for the microcombo series, in great condition and the zips all work as they should. £25 now SOLD

    D. Flightcase to keep your microcombo safe as houses. Doubles as a box to stand it on. This is also in exc condition. £40

    E. MBX112 matching speaker. Full working condition - see separate ad

All items are pickup for cash only from Nottingham - I'm close to J25 on the M1.

    I may post the rockbag

  5. As it was close by, I couldn't help myself but to pop over and play this bass. It checked out as the vintage instrument described, and it was a cracking bass to play, particularly if you play plectrum style. It's got the 70s jazz bass sound in spades. Guess I'm going to have to sell a bass or a kidney....

I can vouch for Tony  too. Although we've only met twice, he's always been a friendly, upfront, and straightforward guy. He's a damn good player and he certainly knows his stuff re vintage fenders.

A vintage bass from one of the genuine guys on Basschat.
