It's worth considering not that long ago, you could get a Musicman Stingray H (USA) with a hardcase for around £1300-1400.

This is absolutely absurd money, and just like the latest 'high end' Epiphones, I doubt they will sell many.

Absolutely. I was so fool to buy/sell three USA Stingray for that money. Recently, after a 5 minutes experience with that new garbage called Vintera II, I definitely called myself out of the “at-one-third-of-the-price” nonsense which seems so popular these days (thanks to all those dickhe@ds on youtube) and jumped on a mint used 2012 USA Stingray that will stay here.

  3. Guess my own thread deserve a word on that Vintera II Precision from the very first european batch I put my hands on.

But my love for Shirley Manson impede me to use her band’s name to properly describe that bass.

    Returned after 5 minutes.

I’m done with Fender and this nostalgic nonsense… FMI, your past laurels won’t be anymore an excuse to take my money and givin’ me some stinky poo vaguely resemblant of a musical instrument.

Bought the best Stingray my money could buy and call it a day.

  4. Guys, I’ve reconsidered the GP7 150 SM….

I’ve made an offer and the seller lowered to 290 euros… it’s a new in box never used amp. Something that stayed on the shelf for the last 20+
I’m seriously tempted to pull the trigger… 150 trace watts into the very efficient Accugroove cab should be a nice home rig and could serve me well in the occasional small venue gig, or not?

It could be a lesser if an amp but at least hasn’t been trashed/abused etc…

  5. Asked the guy if the AH200 was recently serviced and answer was of course “no”. He said it works perfectly, no volume drops but admitted “there’s some rustle” (i don’t know the nature of it… could be the crappy Peavey 15 cab the head’s connected with? i dont know….)

Noise reduction button missed but he claims it works…

    Wants 200 euros for it..

Fact is I recently relocated and I know no tech here. Me? I can barely turn the  TV on 😜

Here it is however. What do you think?34B0A87A-463C-4536-96F0-E80B3389EE6D.thumb.png.b28f1ce94d628e5010edac07b776b7de.png

  6. Nothing on the Fender website, nothing on stores in the USA, nothing on the usual European suspect but.... our good Czeck friends had a major leak 🤣

Vintera II basses available at Kytary.com!!

Don't waste your time to search for the sunburst P tough.... it's on the way to my home! 😂

Apparently while there's nothing to Fender website, if you insert on the Fender lookup page the serial number taken from the Kytary pics you get the full spec of the new serie.

I should be the very first guy on put the hand on one of these...

  7. Guys, Thank you all for the very informative replies!

@VTypeV4 yes! That was the combo, twin valve head with a 1x15 driver… truly a wonderful sound!

I’m testing the waters on the local market… I’ve already sent messages around asking for info on a couple of the heads you pointed but no replies yet.
I love shopping for  beautiful crafted items gone out of fashion 😁

At this point when looking at older Trace Elliot amps you are looking at amps that are often over thirty years old so in many cases that the question 'how does model X compare to model Y?' often matters less than 'what kind of condition is the actual amp in question in?'.

If the condition of the amps is comparable, I would probably pick the AH250 owing to the 11 band graphic compared to the 7 band, also the additional watts. I had a 7 band SM 300 combo for over a decade and while it was good, the 7 band preamp was a bit limiting and I greatly preferred the 12 band SMX head I later got. So essentially if both amps were in similar condition I would get the AH 250. If you have patience then you could wait for another model like an SMX amp but for the core Trace Elliot tone, any of the solid state amps should manage to get that pre-shape voiced classic TE tone.

The V-type amps are pretty much completely different to the solid state heads so not really comparable. From the ages of 13 to 27 I acquired an GP 7 SM300 combo, a GP12 SMX 300 head, two Peavey era Trace Elliot cabs and a V6. The V6 is the only bit of Trace gear I have left at the age of 37.

    Thanks for your input.

couple of smx available too… a little more pricey…

Are smx more desiderable because if the dual compressor?
