not yet; it has shipped earlier this week, so expecting to hear from DHL next week that it's in the country, I assume they will want the government's pound of flesh and their share too before delivering it to me

I'm pretty sure tax is included in the price.

Bought a "B-Stock" Hydrasynth Explorer from Bax, saving ~15% off the list price.

Straightforward transaction, timely E-mail comms. All good.

ParcelForce sat on it for a day 😡, but when it arrived it was complete, comprehensively packed and in very good condition; little evidence of use.

(All I had to do was swap out the power adaptor pins. I don't think they'd realised that they are removable,  as they'd supplied a euro 2-pin to 3-pin adaptor.)

Would I buy from them again? Absolutely.

    Edit-

On further examination the Hydrasynth is plainly faulty, and in spite of "being checked and in full working order", it isn't.

There's quite a channel mis-match at lower volumes; the stereo image pulls to the left.

Worse still,  half the backlights on the LFOs don't work,  and they're essential to being able to see what you're working on.

    It'll be going back.

    Too good to be true.

Now I'm stuck with the rigmarole of trying to return it, and no doubt some grief from Bax 😡

please let us know how the return and refund or replacement goes.

If you’re there in time give the bassist of the support (Dawn After Dark) a wave for me, he’s a mate of mine. Suitably festive too as he’s got a grumpy Santa vibe about him.

Could that be the same Dawn After Dark who used to support Balaam And The Angel?

I caught them in the aptly named After Dark Club in Reading many years ago....great gig.

I'm sure I have some pics somewhere.

  5. Used Bax for the first time, lucky to find the item in stock as everywhere else I'd tried had no idea when they could get it. It was also the cheapest. Delivered by Parcel Force two days later in perfect condition.  Can't say I'd heard of them before but will be the first place I look next time.

Tonight ( Sunday) at 9.45pm on Sky Arts they are showing ‘Concert for George’.
A wonderful celebration of the music of George Harrison by a star studded cast, in

my view it’s one of the best rock docs ever, up there with ‘The Last Waltz’.

with Dave Bronze playing the P that Keith Richards used playing with The Dirty Mac.

The Epiphone EB0 and EB3 are different scale lengths. Does a single case fit both?

The gamble paid off....Just to confirm the Epiphone EB-3 Long Scale case is a great fit for my '73 short scale.

I always thought they were surprisingly heavy for what appears to be a relatively small body & a short neck. How’s yours?

on some dodgy bathroom scales 4.4kg so yeah its got some weight for the size, can't say I'd noticed but I usually play a Yam BB2000.

Not really, the pickup was moved back for every EB bass post 1971 until its discontinuation in 1979.

The OP's one will be late '71 - early '73 due to the two point bridge - the dreaded, much maligned three pointer was introduced in 1973.

    Correct neepheid....it's a '73

    Fantastic! I've always loved these.

Back pickup on full, a bit of drive, instant Slade!

Just gave that a try playing along to Cum On Feel The Noise, great fun.

  12. I've always wanted one and was lucky enough to get this a few days ago. Gunna have to start learning some Free but have been having a go at reggae today, not something I usually play.

Straight into a Marshall in GarageBand and I think it sounds pretty good. Got band practice this coming Saturday afternoon and can't wait to see how it sounds through my LM3 into two Barefaced One10's.

  13. I bought Dave's Eb3, I mentioned I liked a bit of Free and Dave gave me some pointers on how I may go about attempting to achieve that Andy Fraser sound.

As said by others here, great communication all the way through and a really nice bloke.  I would highly recommend.
