1.
Can we have a photo of the receiver next to a standard Boss pedal?
I'm failing to put images into forum posts again so here's a link.
 2. The flautist uses a flute mic from RM Acoustics to a pre-amp on his belt then just plugs the transmitter direct into the pre-amp. It sounded really good when I heard it on our stand at Musik Messe even if it was playing through a Marshall JCM900. Not a common choice for your average flautist and I can confirm that the flute did not sound good through the overdrive channel. I won't comment on your list but I do know of a number of customers who have moved from significantly more expensive systems to use the Classic primarily for the form factor and the way it sounds.
 3.
To me, the USP of this product is the size of the transmitter - the small receiver is nice too - but there are small receivers around (although I will admit I'm conceptually visualising how big it is rather than looking at any measurements) . I'm not actually aware of any small factor digital bug sized transmitters - so I'm hoping that whereas SH's initial product was geared towards guitarists/bassists, they develop it to hit the horn market. I strongly believe that's where the profit in this system is as the guitar market is somewhat saturated. Come on Chris, what's your thoughts?
There's a flautist using a set in Greece! The ultra low harmonic distortion makes is great for that sort of instrument. I'm not sure I agree that the market is saturated with products at this price point with this level of performance. It really is very high fidelity.
 4.
with ref to the cable - there is also a cable length 'simulator' on the device too which is very good. With this switched off (I preferred that setting) there is a nice added clarity in comparison to a long lead. Just a smidge, but it is noticeable.
I assume your bass has passive pickups then? The wireless is effectively providing a pre-amp so your pickups aren't loaded by the cable. I prefer the sound of my guitars through the wireless but for some people it's a touch too bright so they can round it off with the cable tone simulator.
 5.
Does it have multiple frequencies you can switch between if you get interference from other wireless devices?
To elaborate on EBS freak's answer - but not quote his recommendation - the Classic changes channels automatically to avoid interfering systems whether wifi or other 2.4 GHz wireless. The 2.4 GHz band has 79 x 1MHz channels available. Each Classic system transmits on four channels whilst testing four more for backup. If it sees high interference on any of those eight channels, it'll swap it out for a new one.
 6. Hello, Chris from Smooth Hound Innovations here. Happy to answer questions you might have about the Classic wireless system.
I'd be keen to test both verses a standard 20ft cable. I wonder if Line 6 are being a bit keen and SmoothHound conservative?
Well, the exact latency is 7.68ms so 8ms is a little bit conservative! A quick point about latency, sound travels in air at around 1 foot per millisecond so adding 8ms latency is the same as standing 8 feet farther away from your amplifier. Whether you're playing bass or lead doesn't really make any difference, it's all about the attack. I appreciate the latency figure is not the lowest around and as EBS freak says, if you need to add a lot of additional latency (eg chain a bunch of digital effects and monitor through a digital desk) you could get to the point that it is noticeable. All the comments we've had so far on latency though have been positive. People keep saying things like "No latency" which isn't strictly true!
