  1. Hi guys, got a few bits i need to get rid of.

    Gator Pedal tote pro. SOLD

Sansamp Bass Driver DI pedal. SOLD

Next is a Joyo Dyna Compressor. Its in great condition. Only been gigged once where it was only turned on for a couple songs. Turns out i dont really have a need for it on my board. £20 for this one please.

Boss GEB-7 Eq. I only used this to boost mids when i used the sansamp. I would like £40 for this one.

Finally is a EHX switch blade. I got this just to experiment with my old board. Its a great, simple ABY box that doesnt need batteries or power! £15 please.

Not really a Bass shop, Soundpad in Barnstaple (n.devon). very off the beaten. Quite competitive on price, used to have a rep for being expensive.
Very good so far - but I'll tell you if they fall down if the replacement battery compartment box, for my Ibby, doesn't turn up in the next 10 days! Fingers crossed

Used Gear4Music a couple of times and had good experiences, so far.

Never really had the cash to buy loads of gear so never really had an awful experience so far.

Ide have to say soundpad are fairly good on price, but not good on repairs. I took a bass there a few years ago to get the dodgy pre amp fixed and it took them 2 weeks and a phone call from me asking whats going on to here they couldn't diagnose the problem. Took it to mansons the day after getting it back and the same day it was sorted!

  3. I went to the college Tony taught at. It was weird him never actually playing anything, not even touching and instrument whilst i was there. He did comment at the 88 thumb bass i had at the time saying that he had one but he got rid of it cos it wasn't "rock and roll". Tbh i have never met a bass player with the arrogance of a lead guitarist. He does love himself a bit to much for a teacher as all his lectures revolved around what he did with Big Country. Which kinda put me off them.

  4. The Rockschool pieces are way to easy to be grade 8. I'de stay away from pieces that are from graded books. Most of those pieces lack character and can be boring to listen to and play. Also im sure they'd prefer a grade 8 standard piece, not an actual grade 8 piece from a book. Picking something away from a graded syllabus will show them more about you as a player.

    Plus a million bajillion.

    An investment you won't regret.
Any earplugs you may find you'll have to take in and out. I find my ER 15's so comfy I leave them in all night.

ACS all the way. they cost a lot and they feel weird when they mould them to your ears. And you can take the filters out and use the moulds for in-ear monitoring too. You just don't want to loose them!

  6. Hello everyone. Heres my bands new showreel. We recorded it last summer in the pier theatre in Bournemouth. It would be cool for any feedback. It was recorded live and the sound isn't amazing but it does the job.

    Cheers

  7. To be honest I can't imagine many people being interested if they're only going as a pair. For example I might be interested in the SS1 but I am not interested in the corvette as I already have one. Also not pic's of the actual basses doesn't really fill me with confidence.

  8. when i had one i found there was alot of humming from the pickups and electrics. I copper shielded the cavities which helped but there was still a little bit of noise.

  9. Im looking on a smaller easier to carry setup. And i was thinking instead of buying another cab to go on top on the 115 (like a 210) i thought i would go down the route of getting 2 112's. Im idealy looking for tweed covered cabs but its not the end of the world if they were in black and grey or chocolate. I will be willing also to part with cash to make the trade. That can be discussed later on though.

The cab i have has the black finish and is in perfect working order. It does have a wheel that needs replacing as it doesn't spin very well. I will post pictures when i have access to a camera.

    Cheers

  10. My experience is if u want to get paid as an original band you have to take on the promotion yourself. Ive played several gigs where the promoter gets all the money but doesn't pay bands. I played one in plymouth with a promotor that apparently got paid by the bar several hundred pounds to put on a gig and he didn't even turn up to the actual show. Where as the shows ive promoted ive taken the door money divided it with the bands and came out with a nice amount for all my troubles. Imo i think it should be the promoter that is the last to get paid. Not the bands. Without bands the promoter wont have a gig to promote.

Same here. I haven't done a free gig for nearly 2 years now. But i haven't been in an original band for a while. But i like to get paid for playing covers. Especially if its playing rock music as its not as fun as other styles. As far as being in an original band i always asked to get petrol money. But thats it. People in the crowd dont like to hear songs theyve never heard which sucks but thats why it seems that originals bands never really get paid.
