Last weekend’s gig was great with a covers band that I’ve been gigging with for the last 6 months. But then I got the bullet 2 days before this weekend’s gig, completely out the blue, no warnings.

love it, and I’ve had it, but prices can just be criminal and for that money I’d rather buy a pedal 😅 but yes, top game purchase if you want a top game PSU.
I’ve got a Harley Benton and it’s working great though.
The price is slightly high. Apart from the reputation and quality, the main reason I bought it, was because it was about the only unit with 6 outputs and fitted underneath a Metro board. It’ll probably do me for life now (hopefully).

Already went for the Harley Benton Pro unit and it’s superb
Sorry , yes you did, should’ve read further down the chain.
The Harley Benton pro looks a solid piece of kit as well. Good choice -
For a Metro 20, you can’t go wrong with the Truetone CS6 as it can mount underneath.

The only right answer is to go to a guitar shop and try out a load of basses. The only challenge will be convincing yourself not to try those basses outside your price range .

I saw Ed Sheeran at the O2 last Friday , and I Prevail at Wembley on Wednesday. Neither had a bassist, neither needed one.

Current bi amp rig for Rock/metal covers band... Laney takes care of the lows in a big way...rest runs fun stuff. Spark is a new addition simply to boost level for my P bass as its output is way lower than my Jazz and Dingwall. Would like to swap out Demon FX pedals for DG originals but simply don't have the cash...and from my research pretty much sound identical...maybe one day. Apollo 2 phaser is a staggering pedal on guitar or bass. Totally nails that Lizzy Alibi tone.... Chorus lands well for Sweet child of mine... B7k clone is set with low drive and really gets me the Harris clack along with p bass and flats. Octave used conservatively on Land of confusion ( disturbed) and lay down your love (Whitesnake) really thickens sound. Sheehan pedal ( my fav) for all the Mr Big/ winery dogs stuff... I am trialling the Joyo battery power supply with this. No issues with charge times..it runs this lot for 4 hours plus... But to reduce anxiety levels at gigs I charge it in the gap between sets... No cables ..no ground loops... No earthing issues.. and cheap...and if you don't like it use it as a battery charger for your phone..it has usb out! I ditched my George Ls to try Harley Benton solderless patch cables ..unbelievable value and am running 3 boards without a single issue ..the sockets are super compact as well. Have recommended to loads of people without issue...
That’s a good run through of how you use your pedals. Gives it some context rather than looking at a picture of effects pedals.

What are the verdicts on these pedals from Bass Rig owners?

I saw Gojira on Wednesday night at the Ally Pally. I was expecting it to be good, but not that good. Flawless. 11/11.

I’ve still got the old Cube 30 as a practice / quiet rehearsal amp. If it was to pop its clogs I’d happily go for the new Micro Cube AND a Kantana 110. Roland / boss gear in this range has advanced so much it’s understandable that some of these old favourites end up discontinued

I have a 30 year old Musicman Stingray 5, and my son has a SUB 5 . After playing both extensively, it’s obvious the real Stingray is better, but it’s definitely not 4-5 times better as the price suggests. Can’t fault the SUB 5 , and it is just unbelievably good for the price.
After playing lots of Stingrays over the years, if I had to sum the SUB 5 up, Ernie Ball have found the sweet spot where diminishing returns kick in.Buy with confidence. It’s a steal.

Sounds like you are fairly interested in the Barefaced cabs.
Email them with all your queries.
That’s the one thing I really like about them. You email them, and you get some cracking advice back. Especially after sales advice.
Never any pressure to buy either.-

+1 for a Barefaced Supertwin. Ticks all your boxes and sounds great with Mark Bass amps. LMB 800 Tube will be a great match. Definitely finds its place with loud guitars, so will be great for metal. Light as a feather and will eat all situations, rehearsals and loud gigs. You won’t get it out of second gear.

Not really a 180 turn, but most of my favourite bands didn’t exist when I was a teen. And although I still love all the bands I liked as a teen, I have to face it, times move on and music advances, and there are just so many new bands to
like.

Gojira this month at the Ally Pally.

Cobalts are my favourite for longevity. Although I have had a couple of strings with the dreaded rust. Tone isn’t overly bright to start with.

I don’t use batteries, I guess a lot of people don’t, so I like this. If the pedals sound as good as they ought, I might be tempted for the chorus.

Does anyone have experience of the Rheingold BP-2 preamps? I doubt if I’d get to try one, but all the clips seem to show it just making everything sound better. A bit like a cheaper Noble.
How was your gig last night?

I honestly didn’t have a clue, and the gigs were great.
Apparently I had been saying things at rehearsals that didn’t go down well, you know the usual things like focussing on dynamics and timing. It was all a bit much for some of the band members. Honestly, never had this in my life, and quite unprofessional to be unable to sort things out and mainly to waste my time.
