1. Great, its good too know this could be an easy fix. Do u buy this from hardware stores or music shops?
2. Hey, So I'm looking g to sell my old trace Elliot 15 combo and I've noticed that when you turn the gain and volume knobs it causes a static noise, is this a big problem? Or an easy fix? Can i still sell it on second hand? It sounds great otherwise, although there is a little feedback. Cheers!

4. ah no problem, thanks for letting me know. Still unsure whether to get the vertigo or the M80. Ever thought of comparing the two on here?
5. I recently got the BH550 and so far I have been very happy with it. It is very small and portable that I can take it a long to band practice and use it with the studio cabs. Sound wise I am really happy with it, I play in a soul/rock band and it settles in pretty nice with the rest of the band. I've only had it set at half for gain and volume and its been plenty loud at rehearsal. I've only had it a couple of months so can't comment on the reliability but for my sake, I'm hoping it will last pretty long! Also I second getting it from Thomann they have a 3 year warranty and the shipping is really great and easy to track. They even gave me a free English lead as well as a European lead for the amp Not sure on the tone prints at the moment, its a great idea but I don't know if they cut it in a band situation but they are great for trying out different effects in a quieter practice before forking out money on a separate pedal. I also tried out the Mark bass before going for the TC. The mark bass was amazing and I opted for the TC because it had a headphones and line in for home practice and the fact that I can take the amp abroad with me (my work often takes me out of the uk for jobs) and buy a separate power lead and it will work. Had a special voltage 'thingie' (not technical I know, sorry!) so it can work in various countries. If you have any other questions I will be happy to try and answer them. I'm pretty sure either amp will sound amazing!
6. Does it also come with the Velcro to secure the pedal?
7. This is most probably the problem. I am such a newbie I prob don't have the pedals set up in a good order as well. cheers guys
8. Is this still available? Also how old is the bass/what kind of gigging history? cheers
9. amazing! I'm extra looking forward to next practice now!
10. i haven't noticed the peak light coming on at all really. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with the cables. Or maybe I had the tone print knobs to wet or dry. Not sure what this could be really, I have a practice next week so will try it all at a louder volume and see.
11. Thanks for all the advise guys. I'm going to take it in to a techie on the weekend and hopefully the problem can be sorted.
12. Hey, sorry about the confusion. The tone prints loading is fine. The problem I am having is once I have the print loaded, I turn it on and turn an external pedal on as well so I can combine two effects. Thanks
13. Hello forum! So I recently purchased the TC BH550 and I am very happy with it so far. Last night I plugged my pedal board in using the amp for the first time and thought it would be cool to try using some of the tone prints with my pedals to see what sounds I could get. The problem I had was that when doing this it was almost as if the amp couldn't handle it and t would just make a bad noise instead of either of the effects. The bass would come through but it would be super muddy and farty. for example I tried the octive tone print and a seperate envelope filter or over drive. Has anyone else had this problem? I 'm wondering if the tone prints aren't meant for multi using with other pedals any ideas?? cheers, Matt
14. Hello forum I have a question for you all. I'm noticing a strange sound when pressing on the frets from above the 13th fret to the 24th. It's happening on each string but not every fret. It's very hard to describe but when the bass isn't plugged in when you press on the string it makes a 'zingy' kinda of sound not a clear note. It's when you first press on the note and after that if you play the noteit will come through clear. It makes trying to to subtle notes high up or hammer ons a little awkward as you get this 'tinny' 'zing' when you first press on the notes. I had the bass set up a week ago as the frets were buzzing quite a bit and I thought it may have been the problem but the 'zing' is still there after the set up. I though it could be that its a new bass so the frets need to dull a little? Or maybe the strings are damaged slightly when the bass was first shipped to the store. Like they are possibly dented. I don't think this is a normal sound so any help or advice would be great. I'm playing an Ibanez SR1200. cheers, Matt
15. I recently for a 210 and have been enjoying it very much so far. Taking it to a first band practice next week. is one cab loud enough for a gig? I'm using the TC Electronic BH550 as the amp. Cheers.
16. How can this little guy be powered? cheers
17. Thanks for the help. The cabs are 8ohms and the TC head says to use a cab combination with a minimum load of 4ohms. Would this be ok? I'm new to this ohms game :S Also may I ask why its good to match the speaker sizes in the cabs? Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to get two of the 112's for size reasons but I could possibly get 2x110s may not be bassy enough though. Cheers, Matt
18. So I went to a few shops today and I th ink I have made a choice. For now anyways! Might change in a day or two. I think I'm going to go with the tc electronic amp and the two small ashdown cabs. I just don't have the space for a bigger cab in my flat. This way I van keep the 10 out for practice and store the 12 somewhere and pull it out for gigs. And the tc electronic amp will allow me to move to different countries and the use it. Although can I even connect the amp head to both cabs? ? The amp only had one speakon output and I think the cabs arnt speakon. Can this still work? Thanks guys
19. Amazing. Thanks for the description that makes a lot of sense! How much does the cab have a deciding factor on the tone? I would imagine the amp head with have more say over the sound. Thanks
20. I hadn't looked at the fender amp head. It looks pretty decent though. Will have to add that to the list. In terms of tone, I guess I'm too much of a newbie to really know the difference between them. I'm playing in a rock/soul music outfit but like to lay some slap and funnk stuff also. I used to play a lot of Jamiroquai/RHCP but more recently have gotten into some pino. Does that help?
21. Hi basschat, I need some advice about getting a new bass rig. I'm playing an Ibanez SR1200 with active pick ups. So, I'm looking to get a new amp. I live in a small flat, so I'm looking to get something that is lightweight and doesn't take up too much floor space. Ideally it would be great to be able to use it for home practice as well as being able to use it for small 'pub' size gigs and band practices with a noisy drummer etc. My old amp was a 500 watt Trace Elliot beast. It wasn't massive but it weighed close to 40 kg I think. so something lighter I could possibly cart about on a bus would be great. So my dilemma, I guess its trying to get something that will fit multiple criteria for me. I want to get a separate head and cab. Because I move about every year or so for work. I thought it would be good to have a separate head so that if I take my bass with me I can take the head, sell the old cabs and then buy a new cab in my new location. I'm looking to do home practice with it. So a headphone input is a must and an aux in for a mp3 player would be really useful. It also needs to be loud enough to play with a full band and do gigs with. I've been looking at these so far: ashdown rig: http://ashdownmusic....s/43/MiBass-20/ http://ashdownmusic....Bass/44/Mi-10-/ http://ashdownmusic....iBass/45/Mi-12/ The idea of having the 10 inch for home practice and storing the 12 in a cupboard or something. Then using both for a gig. This comes out about 28KG in total though so is still quite heavy but may help in terms of floor space at home. I'm not sure if the tiny cabs will give a enough of a 'bassy' sound though. tc electronic rig http://www.tcelectronic.com/bh550/ http://www.tcelectronic.com/k-212/ amp looks good. inbuilt tuner and effects which would save space as well. cab can stack vertically to save space. reasonably light weight, about 23kg i think? GK rig: http://gallienkruege...ducts/mb-heads/ http://gallienkruege...ducts/cabinets/ Would be looking to get the MB500 and the CX210 cab. really low weight. think it total 19kg in total! but the cab is a little large for my flat i think. Not sure where I could fit it. Also the MB500 doesn't have an aux in so no jam along practice with headphones The price ranges are similar depending where I get them from i think between £550 to £700ish. It would be great to see what people think could be my best option. If anyone owns any of the above or can generally advise if these are good options that would be amazing. Or if there are any other options out there that I don't know of? Cheers, Matt
