  1. Bought it second hand as well, so not sure if it was a standard feature or optional back then and might have changed that feature later?
  2. The possibilities with the pup configuration, active/passive mode, and toggle switches make it a very versatile sounding bass.
  3. Thanks for your reply. As far as I know the year you can tell a specific Tokai is from, is the style in which "Tokai" is written and the shape of the headstock. I have two Tokai jazz sounds with the Spaghetti logo (before Fender lawsuit) which have both "oldies but goldies" on it as well. Never came across Tokai modern reissues as Fender do. If you have a link to this, please let me know. Thanks
  4. Hi, Bought this defretted early-mid eighties Tokai jazz a while ago from an other Baschatter. Bought this to see if fretless is something for me, and I am pretty sure now it's not... Claims were made by the previous owners that this bass can stand proudly next to the Fender Jaco custom shop model. Although I never tried them, this is probably exaggerated. Buy this bass if you want to dip your toes into fretless water and don't want to spend a fortune. I had the nut replaced and cleaned the bass up. The fret markers on the fingerboard in the upper register are a bit untidy, but not noticeable in playing position. Happy to post at buyers expense. Let me know if any questions, Thanks!
  5. Hi, nut width is 42mm (1.654inch). The nut is pure bone btw. Thanks!
  6. Great versatile bass. D-tuner, P/J configuration, powerful preamp or pull tone switch for passive mode. Fret markers on fretboard and side are fluorescent. Great clean condition (small bit of finish missing by neck joint , see picture) comes with deluxe gig bag. Here's a link to Bassdirect's page for all the specs and videos of this bass. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Xotic_XP4_Chuck_Rainey.html No trades please. Now £1400 Happy to post at buyers expense. Thanks for looking!

  10. Unless you add an external headphone amp, it is indeed not possible to do so post EQ Something like this: https://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/M-Audio-Bass-Traveler-Headphones-Amp/1GH9?origin=product-ads&campaign=PLA+Shop+-+GENERIC&adgroup=GENERIC&medium=vertical_search&network=google&merchant_id=1279443&product_id=68013d1&product_country=GB&product_partition_id=191725817599&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIgIixtuq52gIVp7ftCh0FSAUPEAQYAiABEgJvi_D_BwE
  11. ...I forgot to mention: you can send a pre EQ signal to the 1/4" output using the foot switch on the pedal if needed. When bypassed, a buffered version of your input signal is sent to the 1/4" output.
  12. If you use the headphones together with the 1/4" jack unbalanced output the master volume controls both their volumes. Headphones combined with the balanced XLR output is the same thing when the XLR output switch is on post EQ. When on pre EQ your signal leaves the Enabler unaltered and you can only change the volume for the headphones with the master volume. So you can use them as a ear monitor feed in a live setting!
