  1. I’ve got an old Pangborn Warlord and all of a sudden the electrics have got PHUT! I’ve got a volume and a tone, an active/passive toggle switch, but the other two knobs and the 3 way toggle switch ref8use to respond. Any ideas on what the problem might be? I’ve heard people have retrofitted JD components into Pangborns. Any help would be appreciated.
  2. Hi Folks, Just wondering if anybody might be interested in a 60th anniversary P bass (Mexican) in diamond pewter. I've tried the ebay route, to no avail. It's in mint condition having only been used for home practice and one gig. I've put some straplocks on it, and it will come with a hardcase. It originally set me back £775 when I bought it, so I'm open to any sensible offers. I also have an Ibanez BTB556 6 string in near perfect nick that needs to go, so I'm open to any sensible offers. Laters!

  5. Can anyone suggest what might possibly be wrong with my mate's Steinberger detuneable bridge, or recommend anybody who knows about these things. I've had it in bits and can't see anything broken/worn/loose etc, I just need someone to point me in the right direction. It's the "Spirit" model, so it's different to the old XL-2A unit.
  6. Hello everyone, my name's Paul and I've been "spanking the plank" for nigh on 25 years. I've even been known to occasionally pick up a bass guitar! I currently play in a corporate/function band doing 70's funk & disco type stuff but in between gigs I play with a local rock tribute band doing Ozzy, Rush, Van Halen tunes etc. Gearwise, I use a 1990 Warwick Thumb, Steinberger XL2A and Q4, Musicman Stingrays (fretted and fretless), Ibanez Roadstar (my first bass), a custom bass from a local luthier that looks a bit Musicman/Laklandish, a homebuilt fretless, and a modified acoustic. Amps for the rock gigs is an Ampeg SVT with an 8x10, and for the posh gigs that don't require balls out volume it's a Markbass combo to go through the p.a. I don't use many effects, occasionally a spot of subtle chorus, compression, and a little reverb but not always at the same time!
