£100 now!

Has something of a Bat-mobile / Argos fusion about it.

Looks like a Neve 1073 clone, minus the EQ. BAE is very good but $$$, Golden Age Project does a something that gets you most of the way there but more affordable.

Good comparison. The REDDI is my favourite, I just love the way it shapes the low end. On gearslutz I think someone described its sound as "wet titties"... and that actually makes sense....By the way the right channel was clipping in my headphones for all fingerstyle samples.

Perhaps an extra 0 or two :-)

nice! btw, which X-over do you use - SFX X&M, or something else?

73 years, assuming 2.5% inflation assumptions holds out in practice.

Third paragraph really makes it for me. My guess is that "we" are disgruntled parents.

beautiful bass - btw the Gallery's website notes this as having 34" scale....

Great pickup. Out of interest, which bridge pickup did you use it with?

on hold, pending pick up!

Agree, sound cutting out doesn't sound quite right...

SD's are excellent bass pickups, look to be rounding off a nice bass ....and I concur that even smaller knobs may be worth a try! cheers, Roman

got a last minute King Crimson ticket from Richard. great guy and ticket in perfect condition, hehe ;-)

very nice! in fact this is rather further away from a W Thumb than I expected! Happy playing :-) cheers, Roman

the current finish on that poor bass..... looking fwd to seeing restoration pics! :-)

beauty! Having the piezo is a real bonus I think

IMO MEC pre-amps are quite harsh-sounding and can probably be improved on! I'm almost certainly going to try a John East BTB module in my Thumb NT6, when I have funds! Unless you're desperate for a active mids control, this may be more cost-effective alternative. cheers, Roman

Lovely bass! Which year is this one from? GLWTS

My 4 string fretless acoustic just arrived! Interestingly, the HB label attached to the headstock had a QC stamp dated 23 May 2015.... wonder what happened in these 3 months?
Bass is totally playable with no obvious defects, except maybe some light chipping on the fingerboard edges and the nut looks a tad rough. The fingerboard itself has some lighter streaks, but actually quite attractive.... for the money it's a ridiculous bargain. Pretty much confirming everyone else's experiences....
cheers, Roman -
two things I'd recommend in a fretless are an ebony fretboard and an active Mids control. if you're new to fretless, having a fretted "twin" also helps
