1. Great to see all the replies.

OW HQ is very busy at the moment with everyone setting up all the basses - you simply cannot move in the workshop because of the hundreds of instrument boxes!

They will be a full selection of Aspiration Series basses at the show this weekend - plus a selection of Custom Shop instruments (including my own Evolution 6 String)

    Hi,

Sorry about the link. I'm having an issue with pretty URL's at the moment. For now use the following link

    http://www.overwaterbasses.com/index.php/j-series

  3.
So hope there's some news from Overwater or Tanglewood soon - I can't be the only one who's really interested at the price point they're talking about.
Thanks for the feedback.

The website is updated as and when news is available. This is not always easy to do as the team is rather small and commited to looking after all customers old and new, which is a full time job in itself. All projects are documented and a new gallery is being prepared.

The new basses have only just arrived in the UK and will be sent out to dealers soon. Details of stockists are being finalised and will be updated, along with a new section on the website within the next week.

If you have any questions about the new Aspiration series or other OW products please do get in touch. Chris and Laurence are always happy to talk bass and if you have any requests for imagery, news, reviews etc PM me here or [[email protected]]email

    Cheers

Just been playing the Evo - I do love 6 string basses. Although, I try and give the other two basses attention, but it's hard. I imagine it's like having a favorite child, but not being allowed to let the other know.... :)

  5.
Out of interest what strings are you using on it, I'm not sure what strings I'm going to be able to use that are35" plus through body.
Overwater nickel xl - suitable for scales up to 36" or 35" through body. Link below

  6. I assume these are single coils? Are the pole pieces shielded, i.e. copper screened and grounded to earth on the jack socket, pot or other ground point?

    My interpretation of your problem:

From your description, by turning the treble all the way up you are magnifying the sound. Alternatively, by turning the bass up you are diminishing the sound... although the same interference will be present.

By touching the strings, bridge, pole pieces etc you are soaking some of the interference (sound you can hear) caused by the magnetic field of the pickups. Your bridge will be earthed (assuming this has been done correctly)

I may be wrong though :) A little more information may help.

  7.
Are these really 60lbs!? That seems mad for the dimensions given...
Yes... or there abouts.

I owned one of these from new and they, like the rest of the EA range (pre micro) are weighty - great bit of kit though... wish I still had mine now :)

  8.
And the happy customer shot (yes, I am THAT short, and yes, I do REALLY need a shave :))...

No mate.. you're perfectly proportioned for your bass  I'm 6'7 and purposely go for huge basses to make me look smaller :)

Looks great. A lovely bit of engineering!

  9.
Are we still talking about basses, or are them some pics floating around that I really don't want to see.
Yeah. Every new OW bass get a private stock Polaroid of their favourite member of the OW Team. My favourite is Martin wearing wellies :)

  10.
that my friend is a thing of great beauty and im pretty sure it sounds as good as it looks, been interested in overwater for a while, i tried a perception at promenade music and i was very smitten with it at the time, i concur with the bolt on thing ive always preferred the punchy sound of a BO just love em- great bass you must be very proud
Thanks. If you've got any questions about any of the bass models just give me a shout.

I'm really digging ebony at the moment and the notes just leap off the fretboard on this bass :) fantastically defined and articulate.

  11. Thanks guys.

I appreciate the kind words. These basses really are very special to me and especially so as my friends at Overwater take my ideas and make them work!

We've got a lot going on down at OW HQ - take a look at the latest email. If you haven't already, why not sign up? :)

    It's my job! :)

I've owned and played more OW's than I care to remember (in a good way....) - this sounds great and firmly cements my love for bolt on basses!

Any of my basses are open for audtion - if anyone is ever up at OW HQ just let the guys know and I'll drop my basses off.

  13.
Wish I'd have played it on Bass Day but I'm sticking with my if you don't touch another Overwater you won't buy another Overwater rule
I think people thought it was on the endangered species list and left it alone. Next time you're in town you'll have to have a play.... and fill in an order sheet :)

  14.
Loving the white one Stu - great to see you back too.
Thanks mate... it has been a while!

And to think 18 months ago I was faced with the prospect of selling everything :)

  15.
All look lovely, but the middle one in particular (sorry, not sure of the model) is an absolute beauty.
