1. Something very practical, and used by a lot of big touring artists, mainly on guitar combos as they generally use 8x10s for bass which you don't need to stack, is to get a metal flightcase for your cab. Not only does it protect it during transit, it takes barely any more space in the car/van as its just slightly larger than the cab it contains. Take the cab out of the case, close the case back up, then pop the cab on top of it. Sorted!

Poor picture, but you can see this setup in place all over this stage, i've crewed for Razorlight and they had tons of Cornford guitar amps on top of their cases :)

  2. Hey, just found a news page featuring some new Orange equipment. I know they released the bass terror head a little while ago, however now they seem to have made a series of cabs featuring speakers positioned in line, behind one another... Also an 8x10 cab which I know people have been after for ages!

Anyone got any other info, nothing on the orange site itself yet...

  3. Iain is a legend. He gave me a great deal on a multicore and some other assorted leads, and was happy to post it off before i'd actually sorted payment - lost my chequebook. It arrived swiftly as promised in perfect condition, nicely packed. Great communication, im certain i'll be going back for more :)

  4. Moving back up to Lincoln in the next week. Could look into shifting a few bits on ebay and using the money to grab this cab... I love my Trace 2x15 but am after a bit more high end response, and im guessing this would do nicely with a 10 and 18. Also being flightcased is a bonus as my cab's gotten a bit scraped up...

Well, I won't guarantee anything, but this things been here for so long I feel like maybe its meant to be, i'll look into it!

  5. Best of luck getting it sorted, can be a real bugger getting things like this sorted!

However, maybe cut them a little slack as most companies are totally overworked over the Christmas/new year period... hopefully it all works out over the next few days. Its more annoying when they promise the world and fail to deliver, they should probably have just said 'we'll get it sorted as soon as possible, really sorry' instead of making up a date just to make you end the call asap...

  6. The project I got this pedal for fell through, so no need any more! Its a good pedal, basically turns your bass into a synthesizer, it can also have an electric piano or whatever plugged into it and give that a synth sound too... 11 different modes and various adjustments totally transform the sound, an interesting piece of kit! They still sell for new at £90 in Andertons, etc...

I'm asking £50 for it, which is hopefully enough to cover me getting a delay pedal. Or, ideally, i'd trade it for a delay pedal, thinking of a Boss DD3 or similar. Or... if anyone has any interesting pedals going, i'd consider anything, always up for trying something new!

    Cheers,
    Ben

  7. 24 at once? Tracking a band, then layering up overdubs of guitar, bass, vocals etc on top. My universities local studio uses an 003 to bring inputs in from a spirit 24 desk. In no way can I see them needing to upgrade to an HD system in hardware terms, but that track count is pretty low seeing its just a software enforced limitation. I just produced a folk-rock CD full of singer songwriters in the local area and many of the tracks used upto 60 tracks once all additional instruments and overdubs were finished. In no way am I a high earning professional - i'm just a guy who likes producing music vocationally, it was a charity Cd!

Whatever works for you, and really i'm not trying to be an annoying pest, just very shocked at how low that track count is, given how far the amateur is taking music production now, it sounded shockingly low, thats all.

  8. Not sure if I understand the price of fish thing?! Only thing I can take from it is that you don't think the interface defines how many tracks you'd need in a sequencer - well of course it does, if you've invested lots of cash in an 003 then you can be tracking 24 ins at once, thus 48 suddenly gets very limited once you're recording drums, etc. Not trying to tell you what to like or anything, just was shocked at a lowly 48 audio track count on such expensive equipment!

  9. With Midi instruments on top, thats a bit better, but still, I wouldn't find 48 particularly spacious! Especially if people use larger interfaces like the 003 with Protools LE!

  10. You are actually plugging into the correct output yes? There are 2 outputs, using one of them gives bypass when off, and effect on when on - if something is plugged into output B, that jack outputs a constant dry signal regardless of the state of the pedal. Which is what it sounds like yours is doing. Just thought i'd point that out just in case...

  11.
Hey guys. Got an M-Audio USB midi controller, 25 key keyboard that I never really bothered to get into - keyboard and synths just aren't really for me. Its your average controller keyboard - a few knobs and dials to tweak bits and bobs and 25 keys. Solid unit, great condition and boxed. It looks like:

I will post up a real picture of mine tomorrow.

Looking for £40 + post for it, or trade for an interesting pedal. I'd be extremely interested in a Boss Bass Chorus or pretty much any synth pedal. Cheers! Ben
