Hi DL,

Ummm please excuse my potential ignorance but why so cheap? This is up for half the price of a 'rock bass'

This hurts my head (and potentially my heart considering I forked a bundle for a 5 string $$ streamer a few months ago!)

Although the neck is like that of a standard German Warwick, the body is made of Carolena which is a softer and cheaper wood. These still sound very good though. I used to own one.

  2. Owned a Sandberg J5 but switched to a passive Am Std Jazz 5. The Sandberg was great, but too active sounding for me. My Warwicks have that sound covered if I need it.

The Am Std came with a J-Retro for extra money but I asked the seller to put in the original circuit. In my opinion Fenders are meant to be solid, retro workhorses and passive is the way to go.

  3.
When i went in today there was a mold grown on the seats i have in the room and some of my tools have rusted, i can only assume it is from the room being damp.
Bloody hell! If your room is that damp I'd be more worried about getting my walls damp coursed!! :)

There's every chance that your bass will be fine, but I'd get on the phone about that damp asap.

  4. I have a Squier CV P bass for sale. It's in great condition having never been gigged.

I also have added a rosewood thumb rest and some plated brass control knobs. Comes with a gig bag but no strap.

Looking for £200. Collection only in London.

UPDATE: Will also throw in a guitar stand to sweeten the deal!

    Thanks for looking.

Ah, ok! Sorry - the way it read was a little ambiguous to me...

  6.
I was just wondering if anybody knows what tuning he plays in to go with the monster 8 string guitars he plays with?

I was also wondering if anyones heard the jazz album he released?

    Ta!
Lovgren uses 5 string Warwick basses. it's the Meshuggah guitarists who use 8 strings.....

  7.
That has nothing to do with flatwound.
As on rounds, just a matter of set and brand. Thomastik Infeld for instance have no high tension.
Beat me to it!! :)
