I like it. Looks like a fun bass to own.
Re the possible black or white paint job: it's a flying V! why not go for a crazy design? Zebra? Polka dots? Snow leopard? -
Did this sell?

Nive to see this getting some love.
I've still got my Laney 120B, bought new in 1993. I currently have the amp section housed in a separate enclosure and use it as a head into a 4x10 cab.
To be honest, I haven't tried too many other amps but I've never been able to justify replacing it (its got enough power for the gigs I play, plus I'm a tight arsed northerner).

Try a set of flatwounds. Not really 'acousticy' sounding but definielty more 'double bassy'.

A great loss.
He pretty much taught the other Ramones how to play in that style and produced the first few albums (even if the official credits don't list him as such). -
And I've spent years telling people Gene Simmons is an under-rated bassist.
Carol and Gene could pass for sisters though, don't you think? -

Doesn't look like they will be back in stock - showing as "not part of our current product range anymore.". Boo.

I emailed them a few weeks ago and they said they'd have them back in stock in July.

I once played to an audience of minus 2!
There were zero punters, so after our first set the manager sent the two bar staff home. Minus 2! -
I have a cheap short scale bass as a backup.
It takes up little space and is cheap enough to leave in the car if space is tight on stage (or in the corner of the pub). -
The headstock alone is fugly enough.
I do like it though. -
Just bought a cab off Rob- bobbytodd.
Excellence communication, very accomadating. A hassle free transaction. Would not hesitate to deal with Rob again.

Withdrawn from sale

Thanks again Pete,
That'd make it a long scale bass so I'll remove my declaration of interest.

Cheers Pete
Would you mind measuring from the nut to the 12th fret? I'd be interested in a 15" (ie 30" short scale) neck.
Many thanks, James. -
Just checking, this is a 34" Jag neck not a 30"?
(If it's a 30" I'm interested) -
Thanks for the replies.

Hi
I've been looking at tiny Micro Battery Powered guitar amps like Orange Micro Crush CR3 and Marshall's micro stack.
Can anyone recommend a bass specific equivalent or has anyone tried using one of the above with a bass?

Hi
I'm a new member on BC so thought I'd say hello.
I've been playing since 1989, I was a commited player from 1993 to 1999 and have just been dabbling since.
Anyway, a combination of series of sports injuries and invitations to join bands has rekindled my love of playing bass. So here I am on bass chat.
Currently playing my back-in-the-day bass - a MIM Fender Precision, through an old Laney combo but I'm already scouring the for-sales. I'm really keen to get my hands on a 12 string bass (Waterstone's TP12 look fantastic) having briefly played one over 20 years ago so if anyone has one for sale feel free to get in touch.
Cheers, James
New Fender Adam Clayton and Dee Dee Ramone Signatures

I love Dee Dee but I wonder what he'd think about having a signature Fender? He'd probably be happy, so long as he got paid.
Interestingly he switched to ESP basses in the mid eighties after getting fed up with the declining quality of Fenders. (though he could have said that 'coz ESP encouraged him to).
