Hi everyone,

I've been offered an ovation magnum bass for £500.

It is natural mahogany finish, good condition and includes the hardcase. The scratchplate looks non-original (lacks writing and the outputs are furthur apart than normal...). This means either the scratchplate broke and was replaced, or the bass is a convert from magnum 2 to 1 spec (the 1 being more popular nowadays due to the stereo outputs, and passive setup instead of the mono output with the noisy, battery hungry active EQ).

Is it worth the £500 asking price? is the modification/conversion likely to affect its value to a large extent?

opinions, particularly from magnum owners etc most appreciated!

looks like around £5-10 pounds depending on how much it weighs (i don't know but that is 500g-1kg prices) according to the royal mail air-mail price list to europe

hey, i have a jazz body curently with a p neck which i would like to replace with a maple jazz such as this. i like the extra fret on the wd stuff but am concerned about the thickness issue. how thick is the neck at the heel? either total thickness, or fretboard thickness (the extended bit) and the bit that fits in the pocket seperately?

i've had 3 necks on this already and just want to get it right!

Sorry my post is a bit ambiguous there! that stuff is not stuff i'm selling, but stuff i would be interested in as trades for the pedals i am selling. sorry, just re-read it and it is not very clear.. oops!

would the Malekko Assmaster Fuzz be of interested? mint/boxed import. check out the demo's on bassfuzz.com etc (mine was the exact one reviewed in the videos, imported at great cost, and rarer than empathetic guitarists...). it's certainly the most out-there pedal i'm toying with selling. i'll know for sure when i try out a new distortion heading my way. let me know what you think!

That looks lovely. how thick is the neck at the heel? i just fitted a neck to my jazz and although snug, there is a bit more height than i want plus it's rosewood and i'd rather maple. oh and are tuners included?

i've been following this thread for a while and am severely tempted. would you be interested in an assmaster fuzz (with a bit of cash my way) or any of the other pedals mentioned in the thread below (with cash your way)?

i don't think i could stump up the whole cash amount right now, but if you were interested in a pedal (or 2!) i may be able to make up the difference!

let me know if anything can be done (Maybe this is the beginning of a trade initiative which could escalate to turn the economy around )

I've been looking for a while now for some good quality chrome corner pieces to fit my jack 12 cabs. I'd like relatively large, with countersunk screw holes so the screw heads don't stick out and eat my car/walls/bedroom/members of the public.

the more chromey and 70's funk-like, the better!

I can't let the LMB-3 go for £30 as i paid £90 for it brand new (looking on google you can get one for about £70) and it has never been gigged and hardly left my pedal box.

Everything on the list at the top is left!

Trades anyone? apart from those already mentioned, could be tempted by a korg G5 at the right condition/price or similar other-worldly creations.....

rack limiter gone, but lots still up for grabs!

anyone with a punch factory, or the worlds best envelope filter (or clone...), or an interesting fuzz that can make the sound linked above, get in touch!!!
