I wish they'd reissue the two pickup version!
That would sell a bunch!

Well it looks like the two pickup version will soon be available again. Check out that post on the Guild facebook page:

Always nice to see a Guild

Lollipop tuners first appeared on Jazz basses in '65 and precision / Telecaster basses in '67. They were made in house. There was also a smaller version on short scale basses around the same time (Coronados and Mustangs). Fender discontinued them in '68. Very hard to come by.

both from 1965:

How spooky! And you've kept ashtrays on too! What year is yours?
[/quote]
It's an early '66 (late '65 neck and pots, Jan 66 pickups), all original including LPB finish. Yours looks like a pre-CBS in pretty awesome shape. Is it a '63 or '64?
Btw I read you're into disco and funk so you're probably aware of that local story: in 1975 a couple of American session musicians who’ve known each other for year finish a gig at local chicken-in-a-basket venue The Heart Of The Midlands after backing up an unknown soul singer, and wind up chatting in the Bentinck Hotel (next to the train station in Nottingham}, after one of them’s had his wallet nicked. On the spot, they decide to form their own band. Their names? Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards. The band? Chic. True story.- 1

Wow! -
I prefer blue Ps with white or mint guards rather than tort. Having said that gold anodized ones don't look too shabby:

Holy sh*t -
Amazing looking slab. Congratulations!

2, 3, 4 are definitely in the right chronological order. 2 is a '66-'68 case. Can't really see the logo on 1. Clasp in the middle of the handle is odd for a tolex case

Thank you. Here is another pic with both

Thanks everyone. That one spent the 80's and 90's locked away under a bed and is very special. It even smells good!

I think they're Gotoh's with the top part of the 'clover' filed down.
