That is a new one on me. ER usually were Electric Guitar amps with BR being the bass designation. In saying that I am sure the (warning SS content)ER40 and ER100 were designated Treble and Bass and my mate's band used them for Lead and Bass.
ER30 heads are el84 valve heads, not SS like ER40 or ER100

I used to have an early 60's Selmer Treble n' Bass 50 mk1 (croc era) and it was a great amp for bass. Treble channel was killer. Sold it to someone in Japan many years ago.

passed away today at 58, way too soon and only few hours before a gig.
First album (Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People Plastic Face Carnt Smile (White Out)) is one of my favourite albums.
Production by John Cale is raw and perfect. Still sounds fresh today and Paul's bass is pretty much backbone of it:- 4

Been re-discovering Squirrel and G-Man Twenty Four Hour Party People etc.. and John Cale's production + Paul Ryder's bass are so good. Their best album IMO

One small thing that bugs me is when flatwound silks don't all line up (I'm not talking about when they're just millimetres off, I'm talking a centimetre or more)
But my main gripe is usually the colour of the instrument though, imo the only acceptable finishes are white, black, a natural finish or sunburst (and its variants, mocha burst, tobacco burst etc). Primary-colour finishes on instruments are absolutely criminal. It's even worse when all the parts (IE: finish, headstock, fretboard, scratchplate) are all different/clashing shades, as seen on the abomination below.
Lovely Lake Placid Blue bass. Would replace that tort guard with a mint green one though. Fender never managed to redo proper tort guards since the early 70's

Joe Bonamassa has a very nice '66 slab precision in his collection.

tell us more - the 'white' one looks to be slab-body?
It's a copy I put together few years ago based on this genuine slab p from '67 with tort guard and lollipop tuners:
slab_pbass67engI used a lightweight 2-piece swamp ash body finished with nitro Olympic White. Fender AV RI '63 pickups, harness, bridge, covers, knobs, pickguard shield. Spitfire pickguard (early one with the thick black ply). Fender Roger Waters neck with gloss urethane stripped, refinished in nitro with repro transition decal. Brass nut replaced with bone. Genuine 60's lollipop tuners and '67 neck plate from my parts drawer.- 2

Borrow a pbass from someone and see for yourself. My first bass was a 78 musicmaster bass and down the line borrowing a pbass for a gig was a massive eye opener. I sold the musicmaster and never looked back
