Thanks. I found a youtube demo of prEDITOR which gives a good overview of library/patch management and a (briefer) look at the sound editing features. Quite a lot of different screens to navigate through to access all the synth parameters but generally looks pretty well thought through.

Yes it’s well laid out and easy to use for sound creation and library management.

  2. Bought this a few months ago but it's just a bit overkill / too complex for my immediate needs so need to move on.  They're about £600 new, though Andertons have them currently on offer, for £539. So £490 with P&P included seems a fair price. Still has the plastic screen cover on and I have the box etc too. Will be well wrapped up to send. You can access it via the desktop app with midi to upload / download all the presets - currently it has a load of mine on, but can be easily reset with the factory settings / patches or you can just build your own.

Will entertain trade / part-ex offers though there isn't a huge amount I'm after. Other interesting pedals like say a microcosm or 5 string jazz or P potentially. Try me.

Any questions drop me a PM.

I really like this. It’s like a little slice of the Microcosm (and similar pedals) boiled down to its simplest form.

I could absolutely make use of this on my ambient board.

    ME too :)

  4. I've had the Enzo X for a few weeks now and so far have found it nearly impossible to get a usable sound out of. It's VERY involved. I'm persevering with it but it's not a plug-n-play pedal for sure....I think if in a few weeks I've got nothing from it I'll have to admit defeat. I really wanted to be able to sync / time -sync via midi nasty bass noises with my drum machine which it appears to have the capability to do....in practice no joy so far.

  5. Well, not sure what more I can add but "yay for Shep". Traded (with a bit of cash his way) for an amazing pedal, loads of good chat backwards and forwards and literally arrived 36hrs later. Absolute gem and another example of just how great Basschat and the folks that are on it are. And now I'm buying another pedal off him so I'll need to think of even more nice things to say!

  7. Great pedal which is not really getting used. Think I have the box somewhere.

It's in great condition bar one missing screw (no idea why but the base is solid as you like). Good quality velcro.

About £215 new so good price to take into account lost screw.

Heading away on holiday on Monday but can send before then if anyone wants a quick sale.

Long day doing a fundraiser for a theatre company I’ve played loads with. It was a pick up band, so one rehearsal on the day, matinee gig and then evening. It was a community do so the musical calibre was of variable calibre and the inexperienced md, despite working very hard on the charts doesn’t have the technical chops to write with the correct musical grammar, which is a proper headache when songs in Bb minor are written in A# for example. The occasion was a 60s singalong- let’s see if any takers can recognise these two groovy classics.

Anyways, lots of discussion and teamwork and we managed to put a show together, did about as well as I could do gluing tempos together between a lower section brass band drummer and an enthusiast dancer with a tambourine, off for a lie down and looking forward to a regular gig next weekend.

Some mad rhythmic groupings on those charts - makes reading semi-quaver grooves ‘fun’ that’s for sure!

Must be "my" technique!   But I can't get a Duff McKagen sound to work next to a James Jamerson sound without a considerable amount of EQ'ing - and I'd rather have some kind of "pre-set" to avoid long gaps between songs.  Yeah ..... another toy😂

I'd honestly be thinking two basses here with an A/B switcher? A P bass with old flats / maybe some foam and a Jazz or P with new (or new-ish) rounds will allow you to cover most musical situations quickly and easily without loads of faffing on with EQs etc. Fingers etc can only do some much in my experience. I use a Bright Onion dual input box with this exact approach for functions / theatre work / whatever else comes along.

I agree wholeheartedly, I was just simplifying the matter in the context that a DI is not what is needed here.
A DI is definitely going to have an effect, especially if you buy Radial as according to them the transformers they use have ‘magical’ qualities!

Apologies, it was late and I missed what you were actually saying there. Yes apparently they do, I have a couple and they are pretty good though I think I more impressed with just how robust they are than anything!

A DI won't make any difference to your sound. It's either for sending a signal to the PA or recording.

Well millions would say otherwise!! Depends on the DI you use of course but every DI will colour to a lesser or greater degree your sound and as far as I’m concerned is a pretty integral part of any bass players overall sound.  Otherwise you put your sound at the mercy of whatever DI box a venue has (could be decent, often isn’t!). I’ve got various DIs that all do a different job and I’ll often use a different one depending upon the gig / sound required.

    Hello folks,

Sadly, I’m not at liberty to try pedals in person…but have found vids online purporting that Line 6’s HX Stomp is a superior bass DI solution.

    Anyone with experience using this?

Is there anything similar / smaller that can give my 4 band Stingray loads of punch / bottom end (without distorting or muddying) before going into my compressor pedal?

    cheers!

Normally a DI pedal would go right at the end of the chain so you can this send you final signal (incl. compression) to FoH. It might be that a decent EQ pedal would be of more use here to do what you're looking for. But also, if you have a four band Stringray shouldn't that allow you to dial in that tone on the bass itself?

Might be worth sharing your current signal path so we can see how it's all looking?
