3. Ok, this saddens me but I'm afraid I'm going to have to sell my beloved Fender Custom Shop Special Edition P Bass. This is a complete one off that I've just had authenticated by Fender. In Fender's own words: "There’s no order number in there so this was probably made for the artist and not run through the system in the normal way. Because it’s pretty much a one off I don’t have any specs I can give you, but we would say it’s a genuine 1994 Custom Shop “Custom Precision Bass”. I bought this about 10 or so years ago from Gary Day who was, until recently, Morrisey's bass player. He had bought it from a shop in LA whilst touring, gigged with it and bought it back to the UK. it's a beauty with P & J pick-ups and I've fitted a BadAss 3 bridge to it - but I still have the original vintage style bridge and cover. There's a few marks on the back of the neck but it plays beautifully. It comes with a hard case. Like I said, this is a ONE OFF Fender Custom Shop P Bass - I'm looking for £2500 for this bass.. I'm having trouble uploading images but you can find a pic here: http://bluejuicemusic.co.uk/#/p-bass/4572558489
 4.
Just received this reply from Fender: Everything looks right for a late ’94 Custom Shop bass. There’s no order number in there so this was probably made for the artist and not run through the system in the normal way. Because it’s pretty much a one off I don’t have any specs I can give you, but we would say it’s a genuine 1994 Custom Shop “Custom Precision Bass”.
I'm going to put this up for sale now in the Basses for Sale section of the site. I'm open to sensible offers on it.

 6.
Also, may be worth contacting Bootzy, as he has one; http://basschat.co.u...s/page__st__540 He's called it a; Fender P55 P/J Custom Shop, which would be right with the contours, despite it being a top-loader. Is yours also a top-loader, or large ferrules?
This one strings through the body
 7. This one is definitely a 1994 - the date on the neck is 30th Aug 1994 - hand written on as 8/30/94 - I've sent this pic to 'wateroftyne'
 8. I'm having trouble posting the pics. Every time i click on the insert image icon it just asks for a URL rather than allowing me to select from my hard drive - any ideas?
 9. Latest News: This bass seems to be a Custom Shop one off from 1994. Fender Custom Shop are looking at it right now and trying to determine who it was originally built for. As soon as I know the full history this beauty is, reluctantly, up for sale. I don't expect it to hang around for long.
 10.
Yep - it's a CS limited edition. I lusted after one for years. Also available in Sunburst apparently, but I've never seen one.
Chatting with the guy at Fender he thinks it may not be the 2001 Limited Edition - I think it's older than that and this one doesn't have stacked pots like the one in the pic. He thinks it might be a one off made specifically for an artist so he's asked me take the neck off for the id number and take off the scratch plate and send him a pic of any markings/numbers on the wiring. This bass is a beauty but I may have to, very reluctantly, sell it, so I want to make sure I'm getting a fair price for it.
 11.
You put a badass on it?.. hope you kept the orig.
Yes, I've still got the original but I've gotta say that the BadAss gave it great sustain and it plays beautifully and stays in tune well - I'm quite a hard player. Whilst the old vintage bridge looks nice it doesn't play as well as the badass - IMO

 13.
2001 limited edition. Happy to help...
Was it a Custom Shop limited edition - do you know any more about it? 2001 seems a bit late...I'm trying to recall the date I got it but this bass 'feels' older if you know what I mean...
 14.
Is it one of these?
that's the one
 15.
I can't think of a bass meeting this description that was built between 1982 and 1988. Does yours have a P and a J pickup?
That's correct - I've just heard back from Fender and sent them more picks. Apparently records between 81 and 90 are quite poor but as it's a Custom Shop the earliest it could be is 1987. I've dm'd you a pic

 17. I've e-mailed the Custom Shop and am awaiting their reply. I've since found out that a number of special edition Tele's were released between 1982 and 1988 that had the 4 digit number stamped on the bridge plate so I'm wondering if it was part of these - although a bass but it has been known as the Tele bass based on the 52 P with the Tele headstock...this dating would suit the bass.
 18. Hi there, can anyone help - I'm trying to date and authenticate my Custom Shop P Bass. I bought this about 10 years ago from Gary Day who was, until recently, Morrisey's bass player. He bought it whilst touring in LA, returned to the UK and I bought it from him - apparently he only used it for a couple of gigs in LA and it became a spare guitar when he got home. It's an awesome bass - Hot-rod pick ups, 1952 'tele' styling. I've since fitted it with a BadAss 3 bridge and the tone is awesome. I've still got the original bridge and cover. The number on the bridge is 0293 and when you dial this into the various sites it shows it as a 1950's bass - which it clearly isn't. It's got the appropriate Custom Shop truss rod cover and headstock decal. Can anyone help?
 19. This bass is now sold - didn't think it would hang around!
 20. I am reluctantly selling my beautiful Washburn AB20 Electro Acoustic bass (not to be confused with the later AB10). Finished in black and in beautiful condition (I have owned this bass from new - I think c1996) This bass features the amazing Equis acoustic pre-amp system for beautiful tonal range, a notch filter for feedback elimination and both a 1/4" jack and XLR input. Comes with original Washburn hard case. £325 (would prefer collection or can meet half way).
