Hello All.
After many years of dithering, i've finally decided to learn to play the beast that i created..... at 53 years old!
During a very long session of night shifts in a machine shop, i built 'It', that was eight years ago. I've had many painful and aborted attempts at getting my stupid fingers around the smaller version, you know, the ones with the six little strings. So I though the longer things with the fatter strings would be a better bet.....and the strings match the amount of pinkies on one hand.
I'll try and post some pics when i work out how all this works but here's a run down:
Body is solid maple, sourced from a kitchen work top maker. Roughly Aria shaped.
Carvin birds-eye maple neck with rosewood for where yer pinkies go. Circa 1998.
Gotoh machine heads.
Nut cut from graphite blank from Manny's. R.I.P.
Seymor Duncan Quarter Pound Bassline pickups.
Bridge and saddles custom made from bit of steel hanging around.
Oh, and it's purple.....because i can!
My fantasy gig list of songs, not murdered too much, include:
Tush
She sells Sanctuary
Run to You
Dakota
Careless Memories (Duran)
All Ramones!
Pretty Vacant etc....
Under the Bridge
Californication
Nothing Else Matters
Cocaine
Disco Inferno
Stayin Alive
I've tried to vary it a bit so i can teach my poor arthritic puddys to behave and one day, before i get my zimmer frame, i might even get into one of those...errrm.....oh yeah.... BANDS!
I would point out that i can only just remember what the strings are called, never mind what notes i'm playing.....i just find where it sounds right and have a good pluck.
