1.
and I am interested in the VMJ to compare against my USA Jazz.
Feb sounds alright, provided it's not the weekend I'm going to see Bloc Party. Saturday is a bit better for me, but Sunday is good too.

Skywalker, that sounds cool, I'll look out for you. On that note, would name tags or the like be a good idea? It'd be easier to find people you want to meet that way. Dunno if this is the norm, or what.

2. Alright then.

I've been playing for just over a year now, and I've been told I have a natural talent for bass, which is good. I play pretty much everything, from slap to cheesey pop (only for a laugh), but my main influences are bands liek Muse, RATM, and Audioslave.

I've currently got a Squier VMJ, and my first bass, a Squier Jazz. My amp isn't great (Rumble 15 jobbie), but it's on the list of stuff to upgrade. Got me a pedal board, with 3 stompboxes at the mo, though I'm slowly adding to that. So far, I have a Boss CEB-3, a EHX Big Muff, and a Digitech Synth Wah.

And that, is pretty much it so far.

3. Well, I'm back in business on the bass front. I had a bit of a departure, due to a long story of having to move to Yorkshire temporarily to help look after my aged, maddening grandma, but we pretty much left most stuff back here in Warwick. We've managed to get her into a nursing home nearby, so we have returned to the middle of England, and I've gone back to me bass.

Nice to be back =D

4. Hmmm Muscle Museum by Muse is probably a little innapropriate.

Can you see that I am needing
Begging for so much more
Than you could ever give
And I dont want you to adore me
Dont want you to ignore me
When it pleases you
And Ill do it on my own"

Or Maybe "You F****d up my life" by Blink 182.

And I suppose Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne wouldn't go down too well.

5.
That's in my "bass teasers" list .. shame it's now associated with Alan Sugar and The Apprentice ....
If you start with that be prepared for a chorus of "you're fired" .....
Not in my book. It's just associated with Muse at Wembley. Ahhhhhh

Anyway, back on topic. Go out there, have fun, play well, rock hard and don't stand around. Make sure to move around, although don't go too far, a friend has a wireless lead, and so whenever he's gigging he walks in circles around the stage. Cool, but random, and it looks a little silly.

Also, the suggestion about the 3 songs with an encore is good.

Intro wise - [post="0"]this [/post] or [post="0"]this[/post]

6. I used to share lessons with another kid (who seems to have disappeared off the radar entirely, on the bass front), who had a Rickenbacker 4003, and a huge cabinet.

When you bear in mind that he'd been playing bass for about a month, and struggled to play Smoke On The Water, I thought that it was a rather strange investment, rather than a cheaper bass.

7. Ah, so true. It's the whole PC thing.

I more meant the main design of the logo, but it's all good.

Mine is only about 6 Months old, so that may have something to do with it :)

8. Basically all Muse songs, especially Hysteria and Starlight

Atomic - Blondie
Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Queen ( A good use of walking bass)
Helicopter - Bloc Party
Jumpin' Jack Flash - The Rolling Stones
Golden Brown - The Stranglers, which I suspect is Double Bass rather than guitar.

9.
Anyone heard of The Mother Funk Conspiracy?
Isn't that the album with the bizzare intro where the word Funk is incorporated into every third word?
