1.
The little Line 6 110 amp looks good for bedroom practice. Small, loud'ish if required as a back up amp with DI out and headphones out which is important. Some amp modelling as well if that's your thing.
Another +1. Brilliant little amp, it's only a 12" cube and therefore almost unnoticeable in any room.

  2.
Looking at the specs on their website I think I will get a 410XST for sure, but I’m not sure which second cab to get.
Personally, I'd get a second 410XST to compliment the other one.

  3. I think that was recorded when he was using TRB's, although with it being a music video, and the wonders you can perform with sound shaping software through a mixing desk in a studio he could have been thumping a Sinclair C5 with a fistfull of rotting herrings - I cite any "Girl's Aloud" CD for less than perfect examples of this mixing desk sorcery.

  4. I don't know the bass but I would think any half decent luthier would be able to extract the damaged nut and supply/setup with a suitable replacement. Have you had a squiz here? - http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=26654

  5. Someone has already done that experiment and found it really works - http://www.talkbass.com/reviews/showproduc...ct/1568/cat/500

You might also get a little Basschat discount as SilentFly posts in the affiliates forum :)

  6.
Band want to try it this week, can't find a tab on the usual sites, and haven't got the time to transcribe as Mrs Shaggy had me chained to the hammer drill all weekend doing long overdue DIY. :) Any help appreciated!
Will this do for you - not sure I've put it in the right key? or indeed the right notes in the right order, but I think it's close enough

  7. The speakers have to be carefully matched to the cab for them to work properly (which Ashdown probably didn't bother doing when they designed & built it with the speakers they put in it) Just putting in a pair of Deltalights was, imho a waste of money as the chances of them being matched to the cab dimensions are minimal. Alex might go into this in a bit more detail, but that's basically it.

  8.
Don't play 'Mustang Sally'
Or if you do, take Bilbo's approach when he plays it and give some space for a series of improvisations in the middle, or abandon the strict notion of a chord progression and allow the individual musicians to improvise even more freely within the context of a given scale or mode. If you do it after a few pints, you should abandon all chords, scales, and rhythmic meters.

    That's jazz :)
