Very good condition - small paint repair/fault, which is smooth despite the appearance as per the pictures and a little light staining on the back of the neck where it's been resting on the case neck support.  I only noticed the paint when taking the photos for this add when the sun caught the paint at the right angle.

I bought the Dean fitted case for it which is included in the sale.  Lovely neck, plays like I Can't Believe It's Not Butter. Active with EMG pickups, weight is 9lb 7oz, new TI Jazz roundwound strings.

Sale only, no swapsies/trades, and I'll take a sensible offer.  The courier charges to you will only be what I pay for fully insured delivery to your address.  Local pickup of course and I'll meet you within a sensible distance on M.25 J11 for those Service Station liaisons........

    Here's the bumpf from Dean....

    Full Description

    EMG HZ Pickups

The Dean John Entwistle Hybrid Pro Bass comes equipped with two EMG HZ pickups situated in the neck and bridge position for a rock ready sound that players will love. These John Entwistle inspired pickups provide high-output power and low noise from their dual bar pole-pieces and overwound coils. The EMG HZ pickups are also known for their versatility, as players can achieve genres from heavy metal to rock n roll, to classic blues with ease.

    Lightweight Alder Body

This John Entwistle guitar features an alder body which provides an incredibly balanced tone and the perfect dynamic range to suit most musical styles. The alder body is ideal for a variety of playing styles as its excellent sustain and resonance ensures each note is heard. Its bright, sizzling highs, rounded lows, and beefy midrange allow you to achieve the perfect sound for most situations.

    About John Entwistle

Born in 1944, John Entwistle's names is as synonymous to the bass as Jimi Hendrix is to the guitar, with a career spanning over 40 years and being the bassist to one of rock 'n' roll’s most iconic bands, The Who. The English bass guitarist, singer, songwriter, and film and music producer started his life of music at the young age of 7, taking piano lessons before moving on to the trumpet, then the French horn. It was his second year at school when he met fellow Who guitarist Pete Townsend, and the two ended up forming a trad jazz band together. Not much time after, Entwistle went on to play the bass, mostly due to his large fingers and fondness of the low guitar tones of Duane Eddy, joining the band The Detours which went on to become The Who. Throughout his life, Entwistle's playing style has incorporated fingerstyle, plectrum, tapping, and harmonics, constantly changing techniques between and during songs to create a plethora of sounds. John Entwistle has been nicknamed ''the Ox'' and ''Thunderfingers'' due to the speed of his play, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 alongside The Who.

  3. Condition is as new. I bought this brand new from Andertons in Guildford but with one thing and another I've only played it once at home. I can't justify keeping such a bass unplayed at home.

Classic precision tone, it weighs 9lb 9oz and comes with the tweed case.

No trade offers please, I'm open to reasonable offers of course.  I will ship UK only, the cost of which will be added depending on destination and it will be fully insured. You will only pay exactly what it costs me to ship, or you can arrange your own courier.

    Here's the Fender description:

The American Original 50s P bass pays tribute to the bass that changed the world. It's got a snappy-sounding maple neck with a stunning 58 Pure Vintage pickup that retains that low-end thump of the originals.

    The American Original Range

The American Original range is focussed on decades rather specific years - which could get quite confusing at times. These basses have also got a Modern fretboard radius with a vintage-shaped neck to ensure they're as playable as possible.

    Nitro Finish

One of the best things about the American Original guitars is their Nitro-Cellulose finish which is done to ensure that these instruments resonate like the Fender guitars of old. The Nitro finish is thinner than a modern gloss finish and this allows the wood to breathe and resonate. The nitro finish will also mean the guitar will age beautifully. So your instrument will grow old with you and simply sound better with age as the wood and finish settles.

    • Thick “C”-shaped neck profile; 9.5”-radius fingerboard

  4. I locked it because:

    • Some of the comments were bordering upon, if not actually, being slanderous - that opens up the website to civil action
    • If active members haven't read it already then they're probably never going to
    • The whole thing is visible to search engines no matter how far it falls down the forum
    • If Ped or Kiwi want me to open it then I'm happy to do so - I'm just trying to do what I think is best.

    Sorry to disappoint you Steve.

    Cheers

  5. Hi all

I've spent the best part of 3 hours thinning this topic out to what could be considered relevant and uncontroversial comments.

To keep this topic readable, please can we just:

    • Keep to reported facts and updates about case progression
    • Don't feel that you have to comment on everyone else's post
    • Cut out the banter - yes it's funny but it just bloats out the topic to make it harder to read and harder to find relevant information

    Thanks

  6. EDIT 22/10/2019

As the new v3 firmware launched yesterday I will move the discussion to a new thread and lock this one as much of the information here has been superseded and/or incorporated into the new v3 manual. Thank you to everybody who contributed to discussion here as it helped get me involved in working with Panda and helped shape the manual for the new firmware.
