    I am currently an owner of a TC Electronic Blacksmith too, and to start with I really do love this head. However, I don't feel that it has the same warmth, depth and growl that an all tube amp will give me. For that reason I've got it up for sale at £850 including the brand new flight case I've just had made for it. Don't get me wrong, this amp has provided me with endless tone options and power for large gigs to festivals. It is incredibly versatile and not only does it sound great it looks like an absolute beast!

    In my experience TC heads have a slight harshness to them. Markbass seem to have a nicer warmth to their tone, but then again if you play around with the endless eq TC gear I'm sure you could create a nice warm fat tone with the Tubetone function.

It has been lightly gigged and there are a few surface scratches, however this is hardly noticeable but worth mentioning. 3 customisable preset slots and build in tuner, with fantastic L.E.D display typical of TC Electronic.     I am interested in this, how old is the head?

    I think ill be swaying more towards the Sansamp RBI rack mount in future, I've had far too many issues with the little bass DI

    I've sent an email to Tech 21 support. It may be a case of me just jacking it in and getting an Ampeg SCR DI. I'm open to anymore suggestions to repair this though, I've tried running on phantom and cant seem to isolate the issue.

    I've had a lot of responses on facebook groups advising me to change the battery. I know this definitely isn't the cause of the problem as I've changed the batteries many times. It's also happening to me whilst plugged into DC power. Clueless so far, I even tried opening it up, however you cant actually access any of the components inside.

    I've got a general question to you all, do you have experience using a Sansamp Bass DI? I've been using mine for a year and have now come across an issue where it is fine for ten minutes, and then it cuts out and the signal goes weak and distorted. Any ideas?
