1. Rats. Just put my order in with Alex for a Compact.
  2.
Had a V6, of all the Trace tube heads it was by far my personal fav. (had several V8's and mates had V4 and AH400) Very focussed, punchy sound... oh, and loud as pigs... always helps
Thanks rumour6. Although I never got the chance to compare, that is the opinion that I have heard elsewhere on the web. As to loud: I've certainly never been asked to turn it up!!
  3. So, this is my Trace Elliot V6 head and matching 1084 cab, back up for sale. I am looking for £1000 in my pocket after any expenses. I will consider splitting them, but they look so good together. I could drop them off for petrol money. So, what's the story? I bought the pair in Feb 2001 from Sounds Live in Newcastle (Original receipt available). Unfortunately, the band didn't take off; I can recall around five actual gigs with this rig, all in small venues. It has taken me till now to decide that they need a proper home with someone who has a need to turn it up beyond ¼ volume. I won't bore you with tech specs or reviews chosen to make them look good, they are all over the net. However, the head in particular is rare and widely acknowledged to be something special. Both items are totally original with the exception of two of the Trace Elliot branded KT88 power valves being professionally replaced by the Maughan Amplifier Company. One in 2009 (Svetlana) and one this year (ElectroHarmonix). I would describe the head as in 'excellent' condition, with only a very light wear mark on the leather handle. The cab I would call 'mechanically excellent', 'cosmetically good'; scratches on T-E front logo as shown, marks on the fabric cover where gear resting against it has left an impression of the underlying steel grille visible from some angles, carpet covering damaged at bottom behind the wheels from taking it down my front steps without a friend. By all means come and try before you buy. 08/09/13 Full resolution pics added
