1.
I'm very interested. What is the weight and the width at nut ?
Hi Flippyfloppy - not sure of the exact weight (no scales in the house) ,but it's very light - I have back problems ,and it was one of the reasons why I bought it.Nut width at zero fret is 40mm - 12th fret 55mm. The bass (I've double checked the Marleaux website) is the superior Consat Straight II (Maple neck,Pao ferro fingerboard,2 piece light Maple body) . 34'' ,24 fret. Marleaux's own single coil/humbucker(with coil splitting) .9V - 3 eq passive/active. Tuners are Schallers . PM me if you need further details . Cheers Phil

Body made of one piece dibetou .Gotoh tuners ,schaller straplocks and black hardware. 6. Hi - I've got a Consat Std 4 String . I had a lot of problems with it when I bought it . Neck dished through overtightening of truss rod (original set up was too low ,and lots of fret buzz) at the shop . Re-set up ,and dished again . Left it (very P*** off by then) for 4 months . Had it set up again, zero fret was filed right down ,and after week of fettling ,the neck was relatively straight (minor dishing on neck on E String side around 2nd -4th fret -which I can cope with) . When I went to pick it up,it was described as the bass from hell to set up. The circuit board on mine is not attached to anything ,and has a piece of foam to protect from the pots.Very cheap for a £1K bass. Despite the above ,I really like the bass. Great range of tones ,and ideal bass for funk, fusion, jazz funk-fusion.

Will run it through a digital recorder and pass the bass channel through some Sienzo software .Hopefully it will throw out a decent bass tab without all the other clutter present on a standard CD track .Thank for your response

 10. Booked some lessons recently with Nick ,and after only a couple of sessions I can start to see the improvements.Presently ironing out all the bad habits of 3 years of self tuition and gaps in the basic theory . For those looking for a bass tutor, Nick is very knowledgeable and patient teacher who gears the tuition to your requirements and what you want to get out of playing the bass.If you're looking to improve your styles, technique or theory on the bass, then I can highly recommend Nick . 12. Just a line to say hello to everyone in Basschat world .Joined approx a week ago Quick introduction - started playing the bass again 3 years ago after a 20 year layoff .Presently just jamming with a few guys, ramming as much theory that a middle aged brain will take, and looking to taking some lessons and take it to the next level.Played a few open mike nights and charity gigs.Into most styles, but lean towards the funkier side -60's/70's soul,70's jazz funk,80's and 90's pop.Eventually I'd like to get into/get together a function band that's not bothered about the money, but would be prepared to play charity do's and the like. Equipment wise I have a Yamaha BB414 which I do all my practicing on (great bass for the money) and this goes through a Roland 30 Cube. Gigs and open mikes- a trusty 1993 Musicman Stringray through a Yamaha BBT500 1x15 Combo. Just treated myself to a Marleaux Consat 4 string which is a great out and out funk bass. I contribute Bass tabs to www.ttabs.com -recent ones Boz Scaggs,Sting,Gibson Bros,Sade,Simply Red ,so check them out and let me know if I'm doing the bass world an injustice or not !! Cheers Phil Musicman999
