For what it's worth... I too had a Columbus Jazz bass. I had a 73 fender jazz and 75 Rickenbacker at the same time, and I hate to admit it, but the Columbus more than a match for those basses. Maybe I just got lucky (with the Columbus) or unlucky with the 73 Jazz and 75 Ricky! I also had an SG Columbus bass.... plywood... sounded great, nice low action... one of the few guitars I wish I hadn't sold.
