Is there much love for these?

On this board? Yes!
Check out the porn thread: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/243644-the-show-us-your-limelight-thread/

2. Finally the '62 Shoreline Gold Precision moved in with me. :)

First impressions:

It's quite well made. The neck is superb: look and finish are perfect, the rolled fingerboard edges make it feel very comfortable. The feel of the neck is much more authentic than the feel of the body. The body finish looks nice, the colour is spot on, but it doesn't feel like an old Fender. Compared to my beloved 1965 Precision, the Limelight is a little heavier (didn't weigh it yet) and the neck profile is thicker, more like a 50's than a 60's neck profile. Chunky, but still comfortable to play.

The tone is massive. Fundamental low end, punch and sustain. It doesn't have the 1965's bouquet of overtones (I guess there is a difference between a new instrument and one that's been played for 50 years). But still the Limelight is not that far below the 1965 Fender. It's just that its tone is more based on the lows, whereas the 1965's tone is based on the vivid mids and overtones. They both sound great in their own ways.

And since this is the gear porn section, I promise to take a couple of nice pictures this afternoon and post them here. ;)

Hope it finds its way home soon.
It actually got delivered today.
Bad thing is, I had it delivered to my workplace, but I'm sick so I'm not at work and can pick up the parcel not sooner than monday!
Damn you, influenza, you kept me from spending a weekend with my new bass!!

This pic arrived in my inbox today, just got to wait for the courier to deliver on Friday now :)

Lucky you.
Mine (#00148) has been travelling all over England and didn't even leave for the mainland yet. It's going to take all of next week to arrive, i presume...

As for rosewood / maple that decision is still to be made. Rosewood is favourite...
Are you aiming for a 70's or 60's vibe? If it's 60's, there's no choice but rosewood. If it's 70's, I'd personally tend to a one piece maple neck. Then again, in combination with a metallic body finish I like rosewood better. Tough decision indeed.... ;)

Just agreed the main spec and then he contacted to arrange shipping. I then had to adjust the action to my own taste and also fitted some Chromes after it arrived.
Same here. I'll set it up myself.
About the strings: I asked Mark to put LaBella 760FL on my P (they are perfect for that old school tone IMO).

Sorry, ever since a bass was lost for three weeks in Genoa Airport, I have asked for these actions for non UK deals.
Quite understandable.
Here's another thought: I'll be in London and Oxford for one week in April. If the bass is still available by then (which I hope for you is not the case), maybe we can meet halfway and sort things out in person.

16 days, 4000 views, lots of offers, still here :D.
I seriously thought about it. But I live in Germany. So I'm ruled out, as it seems. .

9. Nice bass, congrats! :)
This to me is another great example of how these days you don't have to spend a fortune to get a great bass.
I feel the same way when I play my Squier Affinity Jazz Bass.

10. The number of basses in my household is fluctuating.

Currently it's 4:
- Fender P
- Squier J
- Harley Benton 50's P
- Epiphone/Warmoth "Warbird"

A Limelight P is in the pipeline, so I hope that e/o Feb I'll have 5 basses. Anyway, one or two of the above might leave later this year....
