1. Sorry it's taken 16 years to get back! Ended up building this monster!!!
 2. Earth Wind And Fire - Loves DanceYouTube · thefunkproject4 minutes, 36 seconds10 Jun 2008.urlHi Anyone got a clue what Verdine White is playing on this track (it's from the Illumination Album)? Doesn't sound too complex harmonically, but the syncopation is weapons-grade funky!
 3.
What's your budget ?
Up to £500, second-hand.
 4. Got to get a second bass to back up my Precision. Wouls also like to take the opportunity to tweak the thing for some indulgent slapping, as my normal style (Verdine, Andy Levy, etc) requires the instrument to be set up in completely the opposite direction. Just wondering what folk thought was the best all-rounder for giving the old thumb an airing? Back in the day it was JDs, Statuses and so forth, but then Louis Johnson and the late (great) Bernie also did passable job with the Stingray! Any suggestions?
 5.
Have you tried slowing it down with some of the free software like "Amazing Slowdowner" or "Transcribe"
Cheers Hamster, tried it and am impressed. Nice one.
 6. Sent the following to a manufacturer, who's reply I am still waiting on. I then thought about the forum and an old adage about carts and horses came to mind! Anyway, if any of you can help with this I'd value your input (pun?).... "....................Ok so the bass generates the signal, in my case one that is 'actively pre-amped. Let's say, for argument's sake, you wanted the 'boomiest' reggae sound on the planet. One could well assume that, in order to 'max out' the bass-end of the spectrum, you would simply wind up the bass on the instrument, then crank it up on the pedal, do the same on the Bass Pod and finally turn it up fully on the amp itself. I doubt if anyone has ever done this, but do you get my point about successive 'tweakings' along the signal chain? Presumably there must come a threshold point beyond which you simply can't mess with the sound any more. If so, how do you know where this is? I'm sure I once heard someone say that you should set all of your instrument controls at zero and then let the amp do the lot. But what about the rest of it? Why, given that scenario, do so many people bother investing in all of the other stuff? Incidentally, I did try the above approach only to discover that adding the pedal and all the other gizzmos did help! Do you see how this can cause confusion? Just how do you know the way to stack these controls up? Nobody has ever explained this to me...............".
 7. Further to my earlier post, I've had a trawl about on the web for some of the more arcane tunes I've been asked to learn. It does appear that much of this stuff has been removed pending (copyright) legal action of some sort. Has anyone any suggestions re: other sources? I was thinking of e-mailing Berklee or similar.
 8. Could just be my old 'coffin-dodging' lug-oles, but I can't for the life of me work out the full bass-line to Bryan Adam's When You're gone. Guess i should hang my head in shame here, as in my youth I was able to de-crypt the plonkages of Burnel, King, Miller and so on with less than half the aggro. Ok, so all these chaps are pretty prominent in the mix. THIS bloke though. 'Muddier' than Glastonbury! By the way, anyone kind enough to help out here will probably wind up rueing the day as I'm a TABs-only Philistine with next to bugger all musical knowledge. Come to think of it I can't hear much of what's going on in Take That's: Rule the World either. What do you mean, why would I want to!!!
 9.

Apologies, but I'm not going to be able to take the Cort off your hands after all. A lot has happened over the past week (Credit-crunch related!) and I'm no longer as flush as i was only 6 days ago. Sorry about that, hope you sell it anyway! Ian
 10.
My offer still stands for the Funk Machine if it is still available £280. I'm prepared to drive down from Beverley Yorkshire to collect.
I'm off the internet until this coming Friday, but am still happy to buy the Cort if it is still available come Sunday 31st Aug, as previously advised. Give me a call on 07816 840799 if anything changes between now and then, or (obviously) if it sells in the interim! Ian
 11.
I was thinking in the region of £280, but will have to see if my Chiropody couch sells first!
My offer still stands for the Funk Machine if it is still available £280. 12. Wondering if anybody out there has been able to run a drum machine through a bass pod and use it as a practicing tool, i.e play the bass through the thing at the same time? Can't find any reference to this in the manual.

 14. Is it still available? Will you take offers?
Bump...
15. Agreed. To me, double-thumbing is about as useful as tapping, what is the deal with this chapman stick thing?
Heres a few from me: Fieldy - really original, great player, really good bassist, great tone in the context and style he uses it. However hes largely responsible for the ongoing 'mid scoop' trend, he makes it work but when you take a bunch of kids who have no idea of how to get a good tone out of any rig playing detuned or 5 string basses with oversized amps and completely cut mids, its often not pleasant. Les Claypool - amazing bassist, one of my all time favourates. On the other hand I absolutely cannot stand the millions of Claypool clone bassists who try to transplant their half arsed take on his style into whatever band they play with, regardless of genre. Vic Wooten - incredible bassist, great teacher and all round excellent musician. Unfortunately he has also introduced one of the most unmusical styles of playing to the impressionable masses. He can pull his double thumbing off well enough, but its otherwise an almost worthless technique and I'm fed up of seeing young bassists try to usually unsuccessfully work it into their bands, it wouldn't be so bad apart from the inevitably sloppy technique that 99% of 'thumpers' seem to have. Anyone got any?
23. Cabnyou run the baby blue 180 watt combo through this thing? Its 4 ohm. Replied to your other post, but this thing appears to have lost it?
Hi Jono. I'm guessing about £20 ish depending on postcode. The weight stated in the Asdown brochure is 19kg
24. I've just bought the baby blue 180, this is 4ohm. It's clearly not as powerful as the 300, but can I still wire your 2X10 in and get just as good a sound?
Yes you can - you would then get the full 300w @ 4ohms rather than the combo on its own being about 200w.
