Many musicians spend their whole life looking for that special instrument, and never find it, you have, and you have every right to celebrate it!!
I'm delighted for you, because i know how it feels to land your very own holy grail.
Rick.

Thanks for your kind words, Rick.
Agreed: the quest for the holy grail is everlasting.
At this moment, I feel I found mine. In the future, who knows?
I bet you know that, as well...

As you will see from my signature, I have one of the A/E Precision basses which is semi hollow (mine is a fretless). It actually works brilliantly and I thought that bass looks gorgeous - you're a lucky man Pier.

Thank you, as well, Steve: I do feel very lucky (in more ways than this).
I had a bit of a preconception concerning the whole idea of a semi-hollow P, myself. In the end, however, I thought "why not?"
And I agree: it does work brilliantly!

Good for you, Pier - a gorgeous bass Now go play the hell out of it !!

Will do, sir: you bet!
Thanks: that is always sound advise.

Very good. I've changed my mind about the pickup; it doesn't need to single coil at all.
Funny you should mention.
When I first saw it, I was in fact glad it had a split coil.
The bridge, now, that's a different story...
:-)
Thank you all for your great feedback and kind words.
This is a very fortunate and happy time in my life and I felt like sharing some good thoughts and feelings: and it worked!
I'll post a few pictures of the bass in its new home.
I'm not equipped (neither gear-wise nor chops-wise) to post sound samples, so please don't ask or I'll be embarrassed.
Best, all. Ciao!
Pier
