and the worst bass I have ever played...... Epiphone Thunderbird
Really? I always fancied one of these because they looked chunky & Nicky Wire played one (badly) for a while. I can blame the guitar for those musical gliches then?! ;-) -
I have read many a page about nice basses, but out of curiousity what are amongst the worst you have owned?.....

Actually I'm wrong, I thought you were Mr Hurd but youre not, but I know who it is now. Speak to you on sunday!
Sounds confusing to outsiders but its not actually! -

Then yes it is you, as Toddy is a lazy s0d (love him and he could have been a contender but needs a kick up the ar5e sometimes) and I should know as I was the bassist in his earlier band. Can you guess who it is yet?
Sorry to anyone else reading this nonsense!

Yeah I think I know?! Do you work with someone I'm related to purchance?
I've actually got a gig sortof booked with Todd so that beats the zero gigs with the other band.
I never whinge about lack of gigs with him because he is blunt about the fact they are rare as hens teeth .
Truth always wins! -

Is that you?
The give away might be the band that you were in that gig once a year but should have done more!

Ahhhh, depends who is asking?
Technically I had two bands, one that promised regular gigs but didn't deliver & one that was honest and says he's too lazy to book them....I still play for the latter occasionally! -
I'm at a loose end since giving up a band who gigged once in a year (and had promised gigs once a month)
After a wasted year learning lots of songs I pretty much hated it got me thinking - what would be my ideal band?
So I'm basically seeking a tribute/montage of covers from the following bands which would actually inspire me to play again....
Queen
Manic Street Preachers
The Clash
Jimmy Eat World
A strange ecclectic mix and I'm probably looking for the impossible but i thought it was worth the long shot of posting here.
I've seen a few ads that mildly take my fancy but not enough for me to actually take a dive & try out for them nor have any confidence in doing well with them.

Pull the ladder up & sod the rest. Move on, I've just spent a year rehearsing with a covers band amidst several line up changes & decided to quit after only doing one gig during that time. Dont know how I stuck it that long but I wasn't willing to waste more money and time on them.

Female Basschatters...
Do you assign a gender or name to any of your musical instruments?
Nope, my things get called by the brand or model ie: "the peavey" "the westone" "the jazz" etc.
If I named them i couldn't swap or sell them, which I do not often but only from time to time.
Names are reserved for dogs! -
That actually read back like I didnt give a sh*t about joining the forum, I really I do, I've been lurking looking for work for a while but nothing local that I can keep up with has occurred as of yet.
I don't have time to playat the moment due to a young child who "joins in" on uke or keyboard whenever i practise, time without her is few and far between at the moment -
Hiya
I'd heard all all about this place but never got a chance to sign up.
Finally made time, so errr...here I am!
I will no doubt think of something decent to say at some point.

I really need a tshirt with "lazy bassist" on it!
Or "How many gigs a year? More than one but less than 20? Count me in!
