It is par for the course when looking for new band members.
I think it boils down to people thinking they are better than they are.
Then when it comes to the crunch, they get cold feet.

I'm the total opposite when it comes to replying to these adverts, people say I am going to be ok for the job, then I lose confidence, tell them I wouldn't be any good, then usually end up trying out anyway out of pure guilt & getting in anyway. -
Having heard it played in Mr Mendel's demo video I'm now super jealous. Must have one of these so I'm Definately saving up.

I would absolutely Definately buy this from you, If I had a job, money & wasnt living in a box on the street selling my body for supplies of heroin.

Oh, there was once a band called north & south who I really liked when I was at school.
There are several "where are they now" stories I followed up & have the guitarist on my Facebook list, he still plays but doesn't have luminous hair anymore!

Ooooh! If I get gigging with the band i am trying out for I may treat myself to one ;-) an essential expense!
-
I've recently had a clearout when I got my hardcase, but alongside the cables, tuner & spares, my gigbag once had about ten years worth of setlists & a lucky troll penciltopper in there.
Strap attached cos I'm lazy. -
talentless bass player.....That makes two of us!

The Singer in our band dedicated a song with a not terribly pleasant subject matter, to a man who was bantering (almost heckling) at him from the audience.
I couldn't stop it happening quick enough sadly, but he didn't realise the heckler was the man who rang & booked us! He was the landladys brother :-s
Still got paid tho so we must've been ace ;-) -
I had a dream the other night, nowt to do with basses, a lady queue jumped in frint of me and I sent her to the back of the line, then another lady tried it, stood right In front of me well in my personal space!
I proceded to start a bitch fight with her, grabbed her hair, bit her & then the man who plays "wedge" off star wars came charging in wearing a columbo coat , stops the fight and said "In afraid I'm going to have to detain you" then I woke up. No idea what it was about, though I can't abide queue jumpers in real life! -
Sadly, I read that as Dysons Feedback and got very excited, I love Dysons!

What about the ones that change your rehearsal arrangements so you have an extra hours journey (but they dont strangely) instead of arranging to meet half way....?

"Bring the drums"
Yup! The DG10 was from 1983 & didn't have the MIDI out socket. Same mandolin noise & dodgy drum fill tho! I shall take some pics tonight for you lot -
I meant a bit of both! I've luckily escaped sh*t basses, tho mine aren't fantastic quality (cheap as chips) but they're not total sh*te either, even my first westone concorde was solid, set up nicely & pleasant to play. Tho I was really desperate for a white encore precision at the time (god knows why!?) , so so so glad the man from the shop & my bruv both talked me out of it!
-
Love them souch I bought a DG10 before Christmas!. Cheap as chips at fifty quid, couldnt afford a dg20 tho!
-
This is most theraputic!
-
I'm a first time NE bass basher & a bit nervous.......I did say i would bring my gear along to this, however I'm panicking as It's a bit sh*t compared to everyone elses, what to do?! Bring it for a laugh?
Stupid, self inflicted, bass-limiting injuries

Also. Don't fall off horses & sit on your own left wrist, that means great difficultly playing for a few months!
